Very nice old period hotel that Taj group has tried to bring up to its standard. Facility must be challenging to maintain, my room could have used more paint and fewer pigeons in the corridor. Staff is extremely attentive, to the point where this is one of those places where there is frequently someone in your room fussing with something, and one does not need to always be chatted up by staff. Excellent service although i could have been left alone a little more. My room must have been from an earlier era, with very high ceilings, exposed architectural roof rafters, and lots of wood trip around the doors. Didn't really have a window to the outside since it opens to a deck but that was boarded in for repairs.
Basically a quirky hotel and grounds that is a delightful change of pace and sanctuary in a busy city, where staff tries to make up for the challenges that come with an older high-character property. I've stayed here before and will stay again.
Nice Hotel Location with spacious grounds. But has lost some of its old charm because of too many commercial activities being organized on the premises like exhibitions and preparation of Car rallies. Some rooms are still antiquated and not updated to modern comfort levels and standards. The WC in the bathroom did not have hand held hose spray for cleaning up. Bathroom area for shower did not have a faucet. Can't wash feet there was only an overhead shower.
"Everything was good... Food I would rate average.."
Food was average.. After giving inputs chef did try improving the dish.. Breakfast is very average nd less variety.. Room is comfortable but not sound proof , meaning movement outside or in the next room can be heard especially in the night it makes u feel someone is trying to open ur door but is actually opening theirs.
Staff is excellent... Rooms are clean .. Room service is great.. Someone who is not fussy about food can opt for this..
