Top Maine State Museum Hotel Reviews

Maine Evergreen Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Maine Evergreen Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our stay here. Alyssa at the front desk was really welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. Our room was clean and had everything we needed including a coffee maker, a large (dorm-sized) fridge with a REALLY good freezer, and a few toiletries. There was even a microwave in our room, although we did not need it. The beds were comfortable with tons of pillows. We were able to adjust the heat/cooling in the room and the curtain definitely blocked the light well. One thing I didn't notice when making the booking was that the hotel rooms are on outside hallways. We were two women traveling alone, but this was not a problem at all. We felt comfortable on the second floor. I am only mentioning it because I hadn't notice when I booked the room and wanted others to know it ahead of time. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant and there was live music, which was really fun. The bartender--I'm sorry I can't remember her name-- was very personable and excellent. For breakfast, we enjoyed the amazing spread downstairs. There was something for everyone. Speaking of that, there was a huge variety of people enjoying the hotel-- older folks, families with kids and families with teens. That speaks to how warm, welcoming and comfortable it was. Finally, the hotel was very easy to find, and there was ample parking."

Blue Loon Camp on Pleasant Pond in Litchfield

Blue Loon Camp on Pleasant Pond in Litchfield

10/10 Excellent
"Cute, clean, cozy cabin with a beautiful, inviting lakeside setting that included kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, floaties, and a fire pit for hours of lakeside fun. We spent the day kayaking from one end of the pond to the other with a lakeside picnic at nearby conservation land. Afterwards we relaxed by the lake. Later at night we sat by the fire pit to enjoy the moonlit view. Definitely beat staying at a hotel for the Ironman event in Augusta where we watched friends and relatives compete."
