"While the property is beautiful and well-maintained, a few aspects of the experience fell short of expectations considering the premium pricing.
The food options were quite limited, and the taste seemed intentionally toned down to cater to international preferences. Ironically, many visitors come to India hoping to experience authentic Indian cuisine, flavors, culture, and hospitality. The overall dining experience, including the music and ambience, felt more aligned with international trends than with the warmth and richness of Indian hospitality.
As we were celebrating our anniversary, I had expected the hotel to take note of it proactively, but I had to remind the staff to arrange a cake.
Another disappointment was that all three restaurants are located indoors, with none offering lake-facing dining. Given the stunning surroundings, this felt like a missed opportunity to create a truly memorable dining experience.
The pool area was also smaller than expected. While there was seating around the pool and within our suite, it did not feel particularly comfortable or practical for spending extended periods relaxing by the water. For a luxury property, one would expect thoughtfully designed lounging spaces where guests can comfortably unwind and enjoy the views.
The landscaping is aesthetically pleasing, but most of the trees appear to have been planted primarily for visual appeal rather than functionality. There was very little natural shade available, making it difficult"
"It was a three 3 star hotel. They said they had a lot of things, but did not have them. No hairdryers in the hotel at all. The pool was dirty and the restaurant was none exsistence. We were given a menu.but most items were not available. It was mostly a 2 star. Would not book again. "
"Positives:
1) Wonderful staff, could not do enough for you - kind, friendly, attentive. Particular thanks to Leela, Khushal, Issa and Girja Chouhan.
2) Comfortable beds/rooms. Nice style.
3) Tasty food. Lots on offer
4) Beautiful surroundings/pool area.
5) One party member unwell during stay and staff were very helpful in sourcing medical support.
Negatives:
1) Had to move rooms because there was a significant wasp problem in our private pool - told it was because it is a jungle resort, but there were around 30 wasps waiting to enter our room during daylight; opening the door let 5 in. Private pool was unusable. The hotel did move our room to a jacuzzi room (same price) and we had no further issues.
2) Private pool terrace gets no sun and pool is cold/unheated. Not sure it really serves any purpose at this time of year.
3) Two loud group parties on two of the nights we stayed, hosted by the hotel. Music was playing from speakers etc. and it was all hosted from just outside the restaurant. The music could be heard after 10pm in our beds despite white noise playing from our phones/earplugs. It is fine for a hotel to host events, but if they interfere with the comfort of other guests you should warn them in advance and give them the option of rebooking. We would have done.
4) The jacuzzi water temperate was luke-warm.
5) Phone-calls at 8:30 every morning to remind you of breakfast. Intrusive - especially when you’ve been up all evening from party noise…"
