"A memorable stay in one of the most beautiful Paradores of Spain. The castle where the Emperor Charles V used to stay, has a rich historic past. The strikingly beautiful Renaissance style court yard is the perfect setting for the restaurant and the bar. Food is excellent. The traditional regional dishes come with a twist. Unfortunately, breakfast is served only indoors. The pool is outdoors and you have to cross the moat. There is no pool bar, but you will find plenty of stretchers shaded by large trees. And you can see and hear the storks flying by and nesting on the towers. The only downside is the street noise which you hear in the pool area and in the rooms, unless you keep the windows closed. At night all is quiet. The rooms are elegant and well appointed with large bathrooms. Staff is friendly and helpful. Price quality relation is very good."

"The hostal is very comfortable & clean. We were welcomed by the gentlemen who staffs the hostal, he was very helpful & made us feel very welcome. The beds are very comfortable. We had a balcony with a lovely view of the mountains. I would recommend the hostal, we hope to make a return visit in the future."

"Weird experience. The check in lady acted as if it was her first day on the job and he didn't know what to do with us. Room was very basic. One long pillow for two people to share. There was half inch of dust on both night stands by the bed. No mini fridge or tea/coffee maker in the room. for some reason a housekeeper knocked at our door at 9:30 am. Listing says continental breakfast included. I would say, breakfast was non existent. Again, when we inquire about breakfast in the morning, the lady at the desk had no idea what to do with us. It took her 10 minutes to talk to someone else and issue us 2 vouchers for tea/coffee and a pastry at the adjacent bar. The only good thing was free parking right by the entrance."

"The owners were exceptionally polite. The beds were so very comfortable. The bar and restaurant were terrific. We felt very welcome. There was a little language barrier but using translator with them worked perfectly. We wanted to see the real parts of Spain, this was the adventure we wanted. I recommend renting car and travel the differ cities. This hotel is definitely a 10."

"Excellent location if you like hiking - the mountains and countryside were on the doorstep. Run by an enthusiastic and very genial ornithologist. Slight miscommunication on check in that cost us an extra €20 which was unforeseen and a little annoying but we were happy to pay it. Service from staff was exceptional and the food served in the bar was delicious. TV didn’t work in the bedroom and a fan would have been welcome as it was hot when we stayed. "
