We were way overcharged for a dirty rundown tiny room. Feces were on the toilet seat, ceiling was stained and damaged, tiny room,and the management wasn't cordial. I would NEVER recommend this place!

It is a fabulous location! Right in the middle of everything. The staff was great! A little tricky to get in, but once in all good! I would stay here again !!

Right near the action walkable to many sights and secure. Small room even though It was a superior double but did the job. Basic but clean. They need to put a mirror somewhere in the room, there is plenty of wall place. Just in bathroom is not enough. I recommend.

Good location, but pricy
I don’t know why hotels in Madrid are so much more expensive compare to Barcelona or other city .. I was in Barcelona center a 4 star hotel and paying almost half , compare to this 2 star hostel in Madrid .. honestly it is good location, but not the best for what you are paying .

Primely Located Hotel
The hotel is located literally in the heart of Madrid. Easy accessibility to the major attractions and shopping areas. The hotel itself is very well managed. Clean and tidy room, although the amenities are a bit old fashioned. Yet it has the good value for money - affordable price in such a prime location. I would recommend this hotel to those who would put location at his/her top priority.

Awesome Location in Ancient Part of Madrid
It's essentially a hostel, but the location was awesome. Staff was very kind and helpful in finding places to spend time outside of work. There is a lot of noise from people on the street below, but it's not something that bothered me at all. I felt very lucky to be in such a great location.

Location is very good. The shower was really tight, even for me. Also no english news channel on TV, but I totally understand, since this in Spain, it is compensated by good wifi service.

Our stay was very pleasant! The location was "key" to visit the center of Madrid. Many restaurants, shops... walking distance to the Royal PalacePlaze de Espana... and many other touristic sites. The Hostal's Staff are knowlegable, helpful and friendly. Hostal Las Fuentes is cozy, comfortable, clean and quiet.

Just enough place to sleep with connected bathroom
Great place to rest after a tiring day. Have to ring the bell outside to let the owner know that you have a booking so they can let you in. Then up the stairs to next floor. The will scan your passports and give you the room key.

Excellent location
This hotel is all about location and function. It has everything you need, but nothing else. The rooms are small and cute, but there is nothing on the walls except a tv. It is clean and well-kept. It has good wifi, the ac worked well, and the staff is great. We had a streetside room with a view and it was quiet. My biggest complaint was the uncomfortable bed. Other than that, the room served us well. As for location, it is in the heart of everything and we loved that.

Loved that this hostel was in a converted apartment building. Elevator is very thin so a little tricky going up with the luggage. But very good price for the location.

Excellent Location in the Heart of Madrid!
Superb hotel located near the Placio Royale, and excellent shopping and night life...close to the Opera Metro Stop as well...no breakfast available, but there are plenty of places just down the street. Also close to the Plaza Mayor and great locations for tapas and pinchos. You will not regret booking at this outstanding hotel and its friendly, helpful staff!

the place is very good for the price you pay the location is perfect in the middle of tourist attractions but the breakfast was not worth paying for you can do that in your own specially that they don't have kitchen and you eat in cafe nearby

Madrid is a beautiful city full of cultural sites and churches, squares, plenty of walking options for on foot exploring. Just a walk away for this hotel are plenty of great sights, shops , squares, eateries. I went in Spring and it was cold and rainy but I still had a wonderful time. The managers are lovely and will assist you whenever they can. This is also a very secure older building so all the single ladies who may be worried about solo travel can stay here - its close to everything and I found Madrid to be a friendly and beautiful city

Extended stay in Madrid
Stayed 20 to 25 minutes on the road side waiting for somebody to open the SCARY GARAGE DOOR entry. Noisy at night due to construction on the opposite side of the building. Clean room, AC is not cold. The young lady at the front desk was helpfull and very accomodating.

I was pleased with my stay here. I stayed 3 nights and the room was clean, comforrtable, and in a great location. The room and shower were small, the shower particularly small, but not bad. Especially for one. The difference in the price from a weekend to weekday was considerable. Depending on the price, i would stay here again if i were traveling without my family. The front desk service and staff were friendly and helpful.

Three nights, reasonable for Friday and Sunday, 3 times as much for Saturday. Might be normal but could be because of the tens of thousands there for the gay pride parade (surprise). Easy access, safe, comfortable.

Small but perfectly formed
I stayed for 4 nights at Hostal Las Fuentes. My room was small, but it was immaculately clean with nice bed linen, a good good shower and good heating. I didn't try the breakfast. The staff were very helpful and let me leave my luggage for the day as I had a late flight out of Madrid. It was really great value for money and the Hostal was only a minute's walk away from the Opera metro. Couple of things to note, it took me a while to realise that there is a remote in your room to turn off the coloured LED lights when you want to sleep. The safe in my room required you to use a 1 euro coin to lock it.

My husband and I arrived in Madrid on an overnight flight from the East Coast of the USA. Check in wasn't till noon but they let us keep our luggage there, which was really accommodating of them. When we came back at noon, our originally intended room wasn't ready but they gave us one that was. Staff is really nice. Our sheets had stains on them but they were swapped the next day for cleaner sheets, and housekeeping cleaned our room daily and kept it in pretty nice condition. The room averaged to about $72/night. Really not bad for a hotel right next to Opera, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol. Decent amenities. Hair dryer, some toiletries, flat screen TV, free wifi. Drinks from the minibar fridge cost 1.25 Euro. The bathroom and bathtub are tiny (but then again, I'm used to American hotels). On the advice of other reviewers, I avoided the breakfast, so I can't speak to the quality of that. But there are a lot of great places to eat nearby (including the famous Chocolatería San Gines).

We loved the location, close to restaurants and food. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Madrid. The room we made was newly renovated and so cosy. This was one of the cleanest hotels we ever stayed in! We would return to stay there. charming!

Enjoyed my stay here being so close to so many subway stations. Also, a bunch of stuff to do within walking distance. the only disappointment I had was the room was tiny. Staff was nice
