Fishback Cottage is conveniently located in beautiful countryside of Madison County, VA. With easy access to route 29 and centrally located to local breweries, wineries and hiking. Free fast wifi makes it easy for a business trip or for a night of relaxation with Netflix. Local places to visit include Bald Top Brewing Company, Prince Michel Vineyard, Yoder's Country Market, Piedmont Deli, Shenandoah National Park and Graves Mtn Farms.

Lovely Weekend Away
The cottage is in a great location close to breweries and wineries - it felt very centrally located to many options. The hosts were wonderful and you can tell they love and take care of the cottage. It was clean, well appointed, and very cozy and welcoming.The beds were so comfortable! There were little touches that also elevated the stay like the little soap, toothpaste, and shampoo/conditioner in the bedrooms. The hosts provided some excellent recommendations for breweries, wineries, and places to eat. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. Instructions for check in and check out were very clear and easy to follow. My friend and I said we are keeping it on our list and will definitely be back!

Nice cabin, but no hot tub contrary to listing
When we booked, the search I used included only two amenities: wifi and hot tub. The cabin itself is exactly as described, nice and clean, there’s a visible grill by a small red barn but: I couldn’t see the hot tub. I had thought maybe it was in the red barn for privacy as the property back right onto 29. I checked the listing to make sure it said hot tub, and messaged the host to ask for instructions and looked around the outside; the red barn was a storage shed. I got the response a little while later that there wasn’t a hot tub. When I looked back at the listing, it had changed: they had removed hot tub from the list of amenities. After multiple rounds of attempting to resolve this the host did refund us most of four days, but we had to spend one of our vacation days haggling with her and VRBO and finding a new place to stay, and she never admitted to changing the listing or responding as if it were a mistake. Instead she tried to convince my wife and I that we had seen the listing wrong (we hadn’t). We paid for the one night we stayed, but it was the opposite of relaxing to feel scammed and gaslit by a host.

Great stay at Fishback Cottage! Everything was as advertised and it is exceptionally well taken care of and clean. The beds and linens are top shelf! Had a great weekend with friends visiting a couple of local wineries. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks to Hosts!

Weekend getaway
Spontaneous weekend getaway and the hosts were amazing! The property is beautiful, great location if you like food and wineries, Luray Caverns is less than an hour away (beautiful drive). I can definitely give this stay an overall 5 stars and double thumbs up!

The house was comfortable and homey. Nicely decorated and the beds were in good shape. Lots of extras in the kitchen. Maggie was very friendly and quick to respond. Would stay here again if in the area.

Satisfactory and pleasant stay
The property was very neat. It had decent quantity of toiletries, towels, etc. It had good collection of board games. We really enjoyed our stay. Only slight thing to note is that the location is right on the highway so it might be easy to miss. But the owner did mention about this before check-in so we didn't have any problems. Overall, very satisfied.
