The house: Myself and 10 of my family members stayed at this beautiful home for several days (7 adults and 4 children) and we are all completely charmed by the property with the intention of coming back again. The downstairs space lends itself to casual gatherings while enjoying the incredible views of the long island sound and the bedrooms (all of which were used) had air conditioning, great views, and comfortable beds. Above all the home has lots of character with interesting artwork, original wood floors, and fascinating trinkets everywhere. The outdoor shower was fun to use and got a lot of use. We cooked several meals for the entire family and found the kitchen was up to the task and dining together at either the dining table or the screened in porch was a highlight.The area: We enjoyed walking down to the beach, particularly at low tide when sand bars appear way out into the sound. There are lots of crabs along the rocks as the salt marsh meets the sound with endless exploration for kids and adults. Two beaches, including middle beach with a playground is a short drive or bike ride away so we never had to think about activities.The hosts: while cleaning up I foolishly placed a number of dirty clothes in a garbage bag and a family member threw them in the trash (at the very bottom of the container!). Kristen dug through the trash past heaps of food waste to find them for me and even washed and folded them! She was also very responsive and a pleasure to interact with.
