"When I arrived at the property, despite me canceling my previous reservation, they were confused as they saw two reservations, and even after me showing that I had canceled it, they still gave me a hard time. They should have better communication with the booking agency so that this does not happen to someone else in future. The room was OK but nothing spectacular. Definitely not a five star hotel by any means ."

"Séjour d une nuit très agréable, avec un très bon petit déjeuner pour le SL. La piscine au milieu des arbres est très sympa, surtout pr les enfants… chambre au top propre et bien aménagé. Bonne ambiance lounge le soir même si la musique un peu forte. À améliorer : le Check in où il n y avait personne à l arrivée, et comme notre chambre était pas prete, nous avons dû revenir et toujours personne donc un peu d attente. La lenteur et la qualité des plats du restaurant. "

"The resort is set back from a busy road in a fabulous nature setting. Beware that 20 out of the 26 "rooms" are tents and only 6 are solid built cottages. If you want a glamping style close to nature experience then the tents are fabulous. If you want to have more privacy go for the cottages, which are very large and beautiful. Staff was extremely helpful. As we were few people breakfast and dinner options were limited but very tasty. Excellent option for a luxury stay in thw dambulla triangle."

"The panamamic views surrounding the house are absolutely gorgeous! My wife and I have stayed at places all over the world (36 countries and counting) and this house ranks in our top 5. The room is huge (with a large, modern bathroom), and the house has a stocked game room with pool, ping pong, foosball, and more plus a giant chessboard outside. Highly recommend ordering sri lankan dinner and breakfast (about 1500 LKR per person) from the house chef which was so delicious. The mangos came from a...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Madawala?
The best area to stay in Madawala is the village centre, particularly around the main road (Kandy-Madawala-Bambarella Road) for convenient access to amenities and local life.

This area is the heart of Madawala, offering a genuine glimpse into local Sri Lankan culture. You'll find a selection of local shops, eateries, and the main mosque, providing a hub of daily activity. It's a compact area, making it easy to navigate on foot.

For travellers looking for an authentic cultural experience, staying near the village centre is ideal. You'll be close to local markets and community life, offering a chance to interact with residents and experience the local pace.

Couples seeking a tranquil retreat might prefer accommodations slightly outside the immediate village centre but still within easy reach.
When is the best time to go to Madawala?
The best time to visit Madawala is during the dry season, which runs from December to March.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather with less rainfall and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty and cultural sites. The temperatures are generally comfortable, superb for outdoor activities like visiting the nearby Knuckles Mountain Range or exploring the tea plantations.

This period is particularly good for families looking for comfortable conditions for sightseeing and outdoor excursions without the disruption of heavy rains. The clear skies also offer excellent opportunities for photography.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Madawala.
How much is the nightly rate at a Madawala hotel?

All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
