This was the perfect spot to end 2023 and ring the new year! The views were breathtaking even, this this time of year and I would love to come back every season! It was quiet at the end of the path and we had plenty of privacy. The sound of the river below was so peaceful.
We found the home very clean and much roomy than expected. We loved of course the views, sitting on the deck, and walking down to the river. The screened in room down below was a nice surprise. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tub then and then to stay warm at the fire pit and have Smores. The grill was perfect to cook our New Year's Eve filet. The kitchen was spacious and fully stocked and the large dining room table gave us plenty of room to have game nights. There were plenty of towels and having the laundry room with a place to put our outerwear worked out well. The handicap ramp and bathroom was a big help for my disabled mother. The Christmas tree was a nice touch.
When we were not just enjoying hanging out at the house, we hiked trails in Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah State Park and drove along Skyline Drive, which is a must see. We visited the Luray Caverns, car museum, maze, and Luray Valley Museum and found them very interesting and worth it. We ate at the Watch and Warrant in town. The food was delicious and we had great service. Also, we went horseback riding at Fort Valley Ranch. It was on a mountain trail with the most incredible views of the valley.
