The cabin room was generally clean (no protective covers on the pillows), had everything needed, and in good working order. If you like 60s decor then the cabin and amenities are perfect for you. I think it needs updating so you can really appreciate the amazing views from the rooms and dining room.

We stayed for one night at Skyland in the Shenandoah National Park on a recent visit to Virginia. We booked a ‘Traditional Room with 2 Queen beds’. The room was lodge style with a small terrace. Check-in was easy and we were able to park outside our room. The amenities and the room are basic and ‘tired’, but as expected. The beds were comfortable but the quality of the bedding was best described as ‘old’. The room had a musty smell but appeared clean. Although there was wifi it wasn’t really usable. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was reasonably priced. The hotel, although basic and not cheap, is in a great location. We enjoyed walking the Stony Man route to watch a beautiful sunset and then hiking a few other routes to enjoy the beauty of the National Park.
