It's near our Eagle's Nest, Tree Top and Eaglet cabins and, like them, is near the river, sitting up high above the river with an area to walk down to the river's edge. It's part of an 18-acre "fish trap" location that was used by ancient American Indians hundreds of years ago. Oak Tree is a cozy cabin with a modern beautiful exterior and interior. Hardwood floors, stainless appliances, flat-screen TVs - everything is new, luxurious, and waiting for your personal enjoyment. The pictures capture some of the beauty, modern design, nature, and open spaces. Take a look at those and drink it all in! In terms of size, Oak Tree is meant for single families or two couples for a max of 4 guests. There is one bedroom and 2 twin air mattresses, along with one bathroom and a full laundry room. You're going to love your time here. As we work to enhance, expand and grow this property, we continue our mission to be your weekend river cabin of choice. Book now before your dates are gone! FAQ / Cabin Rules: Check-in 4:00 PM Check-out 11:00 AM PLEASE NOTE: The optional firewood charge of $15/night is for firewood for the outdoor fire pit. (The indoor fireplace at this property is gas.) If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you. No parties, events, or gatherings of guests that are not included in the reservation are allowed at Oak Tree. The base rate includes 2 people. Additional guests are extra $35 per person per night, please read the itemized charges carefully and make sure to make your reservation for the correct number of guests that will be staying. Thank you! Pet Fee- $85 per dog (max 2 dogs) - No cats, sorry! Please take your trash with you. There is dumpster access at the Shenandoah River Outfitters (less than a mile from the property). The house manager can take them for a tip of $5 per bag, if you would prefer. A separate security deposit is required for this property. My stay at the Oak Tree rental cabin was nothing short of magical! Nestled in a picturesque setting, this charming cabin offers the perfect escape from everyday life. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its cozy atmosphere and rustic charm, complete with wooden beams, a loft bedroom, and a little fireplace. I was delighted to find s'mores supplies waiting for me, adding an extra touch of fun to our evenings. One of my favorite experiences was stargazing from the hot tub, surrounded by nature. Making a fire in the fire pit was another highlight! The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, and the dining area offered stunning views through the large windows. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway in a cozy setting, I can’t recommend the Oak Tree cabin enough. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and nature. It was so strong that we purchased drinking water and you could smell it just by turning the sink on. The river was not visible from the porch, the short walk to the river was down a steep pathway. The river was not accessible as described as there was no access point, unless you count reeds and high grass. The hot tub water level was about 6in low. The water had a greenish color to it. There were a lot of calcium flakes floating around, and the filter itself was yellow. The shower curtain had that pink grimy buildup on the bottom, and the corners of the shower had the same pink grime built up in between the cracks. Please know that the water is on a septic system, so it will smell like eggs when you run any water in the house. The smart TV was VERY slow while navigating the apps (not sure if this was the internet or the TV itself). The location is great, albeit there is construction on new properties. Thankfully we were there for a holiday wkend, so we didn’t hear the noise/they were not working. The fire-pit was the best part. We ended up leaving a day early. Cozy, warm and clean. Everything you will need to enjoy your time in Shenandoah valley and the mountains. Short drive to Shenandoah national park and Luray Caverns. My fiancé and I spent my birthday weekend in Oak Tree. We had such a relaxing time in this quaint little cabin. It was perfect for everything we needed! All the necessities needed for cooking/cleaning up were found in the kitchen or laundry room. The round staircase really pulled me in! This cabin is not too far away from anywhere you might want to explore or if you need to make a run to the store. Even though it’s not far, you still feel so secluded. After a very rough 6 months (death in the family) we wanted to get away for a quiet, relaxing weekend with no distractions. That’s exactly what Oak Tree gave us. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. We took walks down to the lake, soaked in the hot tub and looked at the stars, took a drive through Shenandoah State Park to look at the overlooks & just enjoyed each other’s company. We never even used the fire pit, even though we had all intentions to do so. There is a small town that has anything you need, although we brought food with us from home and made meals. The kitchen served every purpose we were looking for in that regard. All in all it was exactly what we were looking for. We’ll definitely go back! ##### Eric S. The property was amazing and the house manager was excellent with communication. My only issues were that there should have been detailed instructions for using the grill and the bugs made sleeping in the bed impossible. There were so many bugs that came in and were attracted to the bedroom light and they eventually died leaving about 60 dead flys and bugs on the bed by the time we were ready to sleep in it. We ended up using the sofa bed which was perfectly fine. I think it’s easy to get rid of the bugs indoors but there just wasn’t a mechanism to do so during our stay. The house and lake are beautiful though and we enjoyed our trip overall! ##### Andrea R. The cabin was clean and well appointed…great accommodations! We booked the cabin with the hot tub in mind, so it was a little disappointing to see that it was older and not quite as clean as expected. The couch in the living room was quite worn. Finally, although the strong smell of sulphur may be an obvious consequence of a septic system, we were unprepared for just how strong the smell would be. Clean, good directions, cozy for two person stay. Thought it was closer to the water but still could within walking distance. The issue I have seen in other reviews with the biofilm in the hot tub can be corrected with “SpaPerfect” a treatment will help with that as will changing the filter regularly. The cabin was beautiful and immaculately clean. Everything was comfortable and there were excellent touches throughout the house, including a diary from precious guests that confirmed what we anticipated: Oak Tree would be a place to remember and for all the right reasons. We loved it so much, my husband and I, that we got engaged here and are planning to make it an annual return. The property manager was a doll too. ##### Brandi B. There is another cabin close by that isn’t visible in the photos which did ruin a little of the privacy factor for us. The inside was very clean and inviting. The hot tub was great, but seemed a bit dirty which was also noted by other guests in their guestbook.
