"Big Meadows is a rustic lodge. I stayed in one of the older longhouses that had several units in it. The wood paneling, ceiling and tongue-in-groove floor were beautiful. The bathroom could use a bit of love with a new towel rack by the sink and updated fixtures in the shower. The staff was EXCELLENT from check-in to the dining room and Taproom to check-out. If you want a peaceful, quiet place in the woods, the Big Meadows Lodge is a great place. The food was excellent with plenty of healthy options available. There was easy, fast access to several trail heads at the lodge or a mile or two nearby,"

"We stayed in the Gander for our first wedding annivery! This property was beautiful (but needed landscaping, the view was largely blocked by invasive plants), the amenities (hot tub, kayaks, cornhole boards, etc) were thoughtful, and the hosts were communicative and helpful. It stormed for a lot of our weekend but we LOVED our evenings on the covered porch in the rocking chairs. The ac units worked very well and the whole place was clean. However, at almost 700 for three nights, I think this cabin was lacking in comfort. The beds were hard, the pillows were incredibly thin, and the couch could use replacing. There were no throw blankets or pillows, soft lighting in the main spaces, etc to make the space feel more cozy and welcoming. I think it'd make a world of difference to upgrade the bedding and add some little touches here and there, without losing the rustic charm, but I certainly *would* recommend this cabin to a friend after those changes were made."

"The house and property were wonderful. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. There were clean linens, towels,basic cleaning supplies, china and cutlery all provided. The location was perfect, about 10 minutes from a nice central town with things to do and easy accessibility. The hot tub was very relaxing on a quiet night and the house stayed chilled and dark during the middle of July. The host, Kristen, was excellent and very responsive to any inquires and went out of her way to help address a billing issue.I cannot recommend this host and property enough."
