About this property
Fabulous Georgian Town House
This stunning property is a self contained wing of a Georgian Town House once owned by the Earls of Shrewsbury. It has been recently renovated and the house retains many of its original features. Equipped with a mix of antique and modern furniture the house has charm and comfort. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a large sitting room with piano, an oak panelled dining room with circular table, and a fully-equipped kitchen with slim dishwasher. On the first floor there are two formal and spacious bedrooms, one king and one twin, which share a bathroom (with shower). On the second floor, only accessed via a steep and narrow staircase (not suitable for the elderly), there is a ‘walk through’ twin room, and another double bedroom with an ensuite with a free standing bath.
The house is perfect for 6 guests, and although there are beds for 8 guests, it is a bit ‘tight’. The 4th bedroom (a twin) simply has a curtain between it and the stairs, so it is not completely private. See the photos! There are beautiful high ceilings and panelled rooms throughout, and you will be warm and cosy, with the use of two gas fires in addition to full central heating. Sumptuous bed linen and towels are provided in all rooms.
We have a good friend who is a cook, who is happy to cater for guests, either during the evening, or by leaving a prepared meal ready for you. Just heaven, if you are arriving late, or if you cannot get booked into one of Ludlow's fabulous restaurants. Details on request. You will have exclusive use of the whole house which consists of hall, kitchen, dining room, sitting room and 2 bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. The 2nd floor has 2 additional bedrooms and a bathroom. There is an entrance hallway shared with one other property belonging to us, and it is a great place for wellies, coats, bikes etc.
To gain access to the double ensuite bedroom on the second floor you must go up the stairs THROUGH THE TWIN ROOM which can be curtained off - please see the photographs

Charming historic house, ideally situated close to everything but in a quiet location (we slept very well, the mattresses are of excellent quality).Wood panelling and antique furniture with a modern touch in the decoration make this house a very warm and cosy place. We loved our stay and will be back.Forbes Group Team
Extremely comfortable home with a great sense of history. I booked for four days to take my four adult children and my teenage grandson away to celebrate a birthday. We enjoyed some lovely walks and explored the castle and church. In the evenings we played board games in the cosy sitting room and the formal dining room made mealtimes special. We now have some very happy memories of our stay in Ludlow.
All the information given prior to our visit was totally accurate and helpful.
Location was spot on for the Ludlow food festival and the restaurant recommendations were great.
The house is very comfortable and cosy, quite quirky and characterful.Highly recommended. I don’t normally sleep through the whole night, but every night in Ludlow was uninterrupted.
This home is even better than the impression we got from the pictures on the internet. It felt as if we stepped back in time but then with all the modern comfort you could wish for. In the Netherlands we call the atmosphere "gezellig". Cosy, warm, comfortable. Besides this, Ludlow is a lovely little village and we would love to come back!
Really beautiful house. Small kitchen for the size of the property and cupboard shelves a bit high to reach but we enjoyed two lovely meals around the dining table. One was a platter from the fabulous Fish House and another we cooked for Easter Sunday. Ros and Ian answered email queries quickly. Handy tips for parking. A really special stay.
Such a characterful house; felt like a home from home. Spacious property which felt cozy. Comfortable beds and living room with everything we needed. Hosts made it clear we could contact them if we needed anything. Would highly recommend and certainly stay again.
Fab house for my family of 7 to celebrate my birthday!Perfect position in the town for cafes, pubs and restaurants and shops. Also close to river where safe to swim which we all enjoyed…highlight as so hot Only down side could not get in till 4pm (3pm would have been more acceptable as would 11am on day of departure instead of 10am) requested but had to pay extra!
We were impressed with the cleanliness and the fact that the house was warm and comfortable. The crockery/cutlery were lovely quality and we were very pleased with all the extras such as handwash: toilet rolls:Washing up liquid: cooking oil/condiments etc.The sitting room was particularly cosy with the flame effect gas fire. All in all it is a great place to stay and couldn’t be moreconvenient for walking into town. Thank you
We were very happy with Ludlow and the house is in a great location. We just parked our cars and walked everywhere. The house is quirky, but has everything you need. We were 3 generations and all loved it. Not a great place if you can’t manage stairs, but otherwise an excellent choice. Also visit the Castle!
We fell in love the moment we opened the door! The house is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Very comfortable and the location in Ludlow cannot be beaten. We could walk literally everywhere.
The house is so full of history and character, with a modern kitchen and bathroom - and comfortable beds. Perfect!!
Great apartment in historic building, central but quiet location (slept really well), wood panelling and antique furniture throughout. Absolutely loved our stay.
What a perfect house for a group of friends to finally meet up again. It was such a charming and comfortable place to stay and Ros was an excellent host.
Perfect location within minutes from the centre of everything and great restaurants nearby. Stunning property perfectly described and includes everything you could need.
This property is stunning. The owners have thoughtfully and carefully restored it to a very high standard, tastefully keeping all of the original features as well as including the modern day luxuries. It is a large property, there were 4 adults and a toddler and we had ample room. It really is a grand ‘home from home’. Location is great, right in the centre of town on the popular Broad street with shops, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. Communication with the owners was excellent. We can’t wait to return very soon. Thanks for having us Ros!!
