Find hotels in Lucre from £18

The best area to stay in Lucre is generally within the main village itself, particularly around the central plaza, as it offers the most convenience and access to local amenities.

The village of Lucre is relatively small and compact, with most of its activity centred on the Plaza de Armas. Here you'll find a church, a few small shops, and local eateries. The streets immediately surrounding the plaza are where you'll find the most accommodation options, ranging from guesthouses to small hotels. Its central location makes it easy to walk to anywhere within the village.

For couples or those looking for a quiet retreat, staying within the village provides a genuine local experience. You'll be well-placed to explore the nearby Pikillaqta archaeological site and the Huacarpay Lake, both within a short drive.

While Lucre is a small town, the best time to visit the Apurímac Region, where Lucre is located, is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience clear skies and pleasant temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, including the nearby Apurímac River canyon. This period is superb for outdoor activities such as hiking and enjoying the natural landscapes without the disruption of heavy rains.
