Travellers need to be prepared for what this is. It’s simply a clean, economical room to stay in near the Hunter Valley. It’s not in the wine region, but a very easy drive. It’s in a TAFE campus, so no facilities or attractions within walking distance. The atmosphere is dull and you’ll really just want to be in your room. We arrived on a weekend, so no face to face service but the instructions and contact prior was clear and friendly. The room itself was small but well equipped, the bathroom was spotless, the shower had good water pressure, but I found bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The windows are also small and don’t allow a great deal of air circulation, so you’ll be relying on air conditioning. Picked this hotel because we figured that this accommodation plus a $50 taxi//Uber each way to join our wine tour was far more sensible than shelling out thousands of dollars for a couple of nights at a more central location. Very glad we did. There's plenty of wildlife around the campus, and the grounds are all used for student training so there's an immaculate cricket ground, golf course, and an on-site winery as well. The campus was deserted when we stayed here, the only reason we knew anyone else was around was the presence of another car in the parking lot. The only downsides were that the staff leave at 5pm on Friday; there's no on-site catering so you have to drive to Kurri or another nearby town for breakfast and dinner.
