Find hotels in Lourido from £39

The best area to stay in Lourido is along the beachfront, particularly near Praia de Lourido and Praia do Carreiro.

This area is the heart of Lourido's appeal, offering direct access to the beautiful Atlantic coastline. The main road running parallel to the beaches, Avenida do Atlântico, is where you'll find most of the accommodation options, along with a selection of local restaurants and cafes. It's a relaxed, coastal setting superb for enjoying the sea.

Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic getaway. The proximity to the beaches means you can easily enjoy strolls along the shore, watch the sunset, or simply relax by the ocean. Many hotels in this strip offer rooms with sea views, adding to the experience.

Families will also appreciate staying close to Praia de Lourido. The beach itself is known for being well-maintained and suitable for children, with plenty of space for playing in the sand and paddling in the waves.

The best time to go to Lourido is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and sunny, great for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities.

During these months, you'll find the Atlantic Ocean waters at their most inviting for swimming and water sports. The longer daylight hours also mean more time to explore the coastal trails and enjoy al fresco dining. This period is ideal for families looking for a classic beach holiday, with plenty of opportunities for children to play in the sand and sea.

For couples seeking a slightly quieter experience with pleasant weather, late May or early October can also be appealing. The crowds are typically smaller, but the temperatures remain mild enough for comfortable walks along the shore and exploring the nearby town of Viana do Castelo without the peak summer heat.
