Lotus Lake

It’s fine as a baseline motel. The place is run down, especially as compared to the neighborhood- hallway carpets were musty, but the room’s was ok. Their hospitality is also baseline… strict 10:30 checkout, etc. Minihaha falls is close, which is why I chose the spot, and there’s bus and transit a block away. It worked out, though I personally would expect a lower rate for the quality.

The room was thoughtfully designed for a small room and was beautifully decorated. The onsite gym was well equipped and spacious. The bar/restaurant was delicious and well staffed. Only complaint, offsite self parking was a bit challenging, it was close but getting in and out of the garage on weekend required assistance from human versus automatic.

The staff was not nice - especially the bartender during the happy hours. The room had a stale scent to it and the floors sloped. The breakfast attendants were really nice and the check in staff were okay. Not super friendly but not helpful either - they often walked away from the desk.
