Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Los Medanos?
The best time to visit Los Medanos is during the dry season, which runs from May to October, as this offers the most reliable weather for outdoor activities.

During these months, you can expect clear skies and comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the desert landscape and enjoying adventures like dune buggy rides and sandboarding. The lack of rain ensures the sand dunes are in their best condition and that tours run without interruption.

Couples often find this period superb for a romantic getaway, as the consistent good weather allows for star-gazing evenings over the desert and sunset views from the dunes without concerns about cloud cover. The pleasant climate also makes it enjoyable to relax by a pool at one of the upscale desert resorts.

For those interested in photography, the dry season provides excellent lighting conditions for capturing the vast desert vistas and the unique colours of the Ica region.
