El Chaltén is the ideal base for visiting the northern section, while El Calafate is the gateway to the south. Visit the park’s attractions via organised tours, public transport and self-guided walks. The park is open year-round and there is an admission fee. A good time to visit is between November and March, when days are mild and sunny. Winter months are notoriously cold and windy, and some tourism services cease operation.
