Friendly welcoming owner and staff. Rustic but comfortable cottage with all that one needs. Wonderful for children to be able to get up close to the animals and to feed them. Open fire, and breakfast provisions, electric heating, very nice under floor bathroom heating. We love this cottage tucked away off the main road. Very quiet and lovely in winter. We came back for our second visit. It still remains as we remembered it. The estate is great with a lot of farm animals. The history is interesting and the staff very nice and accommodating. We will be back! Breakfast provisions were welcome and the nearby farm animals were of great interest. However, attention to housekeeping is needed. Curtains, floors, carpet and lounge furniture were grubby - the lounge furniture could do with a good steam clean. Having free access to the estate gardens and grounds whilst there was fantastic and we were lucky enough to meet members of the Archer family as well as their friendly staff. Although it is a working estate we were made very welcome and I cannot rate the whole experience highly enough. So special to see the whole estate being kept as a going concern and in the same family.
