A unique 1980's style vintage home with tons of interesting history. What a great place for summer fun – kite flying, a beach picnic, sunset strolls. You can watch wildlife from the living room -- or winter storms. This is great house for clammer's too! This home is in a secluded part of the Klipsan Beach area with a public trail to the beach nearby. Or take a short drive into Long Beach for restaurants, shopping and other entertainment. B & J Sea View sleeps up to 8 people total. The overall feel of the home is casual – like stepping back to the 1980's era. There are interesting features like custom stained glass windows created by the owner and an antique stove in the family room. On the first floor there are two bedrooms (both with queen beds) and bath with a shower. Upstairs are the kitchen and living room, plus another bath with a shower and a family room with 1 King bed and 2 twin beds\[trundle\]. The living room is wide open with lots of windows showing the great view of the beach. There’s cable TV in the living room and the family room, and Wi-Fi available as well. There are two garage spaces for parking, plus additional parking in front of the garage and room for 2 cars to the north of the house. If you are bringing along a pet, B & J is a great home. It has a large fenced in yard for your pet to roam around and play. There’s even more to explore on the Long Beach Peninsula – all 26 plus miles of it. If you drive north from the house to Ocean Park there are bookstores, restaurants and gift stores and more beaches to explore. Visit Jack’s Country Store to see this historic yet current meeting place. In Nahcotta you can buy fresh oysters and enjoy the wonderful views of Willapa Bay. On the extreme north end of the Peninsula, the place to see is Ledbetter Point State Park -- it’s a wonderful place for hiking to the beach or to the bay. There’s lots of wildlife to see in our local parks. Keep your eyes open for bald eagles – we see many of them here. B & J Sea View is a home everyone can enjoy! Long Beach is about 7 miles to the south. The downtown is a hub of activity year-round, but especially during the summer months, with the International Kite Festival in August and of course fireworks on Independence Day and New Year’s Eve. There’s great shopping and a variety of restaurants, plus lots of things for the kids to do -- miniature golf, the arcade and carnival rides too. Just a couple miles south of Long Beach are Ilwaco and Cape Disappointment as well as Waikiki Beach and the North Head lighthouse. There are some great art galleries at the Port of Ilwaco, and during the summer months there’s Saturday Market too, with a variety of local arts and crafts, foods, flowers and plants for sale. You can even see pirates at times. Ilwaco also has its own fireworks in July. The Port also features some fine restaurants with local seafood offerings created by our great chefs. It was someone's loving home at on time, but now it is just pretty rundown and user friendly. The decks are not useable, the kitchen is dated and greasy, and the wood stove was also not usable. The floor plan is very confusing, although there definitely is too for 8 people. The BBQ is on the only open deck but you must walk down a hall and through a bedroom to use it. We purchased a grill rack at the Ocean Park store so we could BBQ. Our family had a lovely time, but even the younger kids noted that there were many strange things with the house. It also smelled just like my 95 year old grandmother's house! Renter beware! This house would be wonderful if it were upgraded and repaired. The walk to the beach is perfect!! The yard is lovely. This house is a shame! The owners and the Rental agency should be refunding money to everyone who has fallen for the sham of "Rustic". This house is rotting and old!! So many problems, here are just a few. It's old, rotting and falling apart! The many stairs and deck are hazards. The house is filthy. The windows are old aluminum with mold and filth. The lights don't work, switches to nothing, no light over dining table. Windows that do open don't have screens, allowing Yellow-jackets in the house. Dangerous exposed wiring throughout the house. Old dirty furniture. Sand in beds as though the sheets were not clean from previous stay. Garbage on deck and outside of house. The septic system cant handle the amount of people staying in the house. DO NOT RENT! Bad Galvanized pipes causing boiled egg smelling water! \*Zero Stars\* Pulling up to the property it looked nice & was excited for the stay w/ my mom & adult kids for my bday, not knowing the nightmare to come. Starting w/ the floor plan is quirky so you either have to walk up two flights of stairs through the garage to the living/ main area or a from the outside it’s a steep set of stairs with 1 section of the side paneling missing making me nervous w/ our dog that could easily fall from 2nd story, very hazardous! The view is ok due to distant to ocean & location is private. Shades were open when we arrived w/ the sun blaring it was reading 98 degrees inside. There’s NO AC & only 2 fans, kitchen window is only 1 w/ a screen so a little air risking the mosquitoes. Definitely a musty smell due to the age which is expected but as we were trying to open up windows we noticed almost all the windows have LIVE WHITE MOLD which can make you very sick! But the worst is their old galvanized pipes. This is not just hard water but it smells like boiled eggs. Just washing your hands with it is gross. We used bottled water even to brush our teeth. 2 of the 6 of us took a shower shortly after arriving not knowing about the water smell, it was so unbearable NO one else showered the remaining time! We love old places w/ history & character. We’ve rented 4 B&B in the last 6 weeks so familiar. We expected “Rustic” but this place is plain disgusting & dangerous! Beautiful view from upstairs living room windows! Pipes are in serious need of replacement as the toilet water was yellow and brushing my teeth was a horrid experience as the taste of rust is very evident. In fact you can smell it when the water is running but I showered in it anyways. They ask that you strip the beds, no issue with that but they also ask that you start a load of towels washing prior to leaving, no problem with that either… however there was no laundry soap available. That fact lead to thoughts of “ was I using towels and linens not cleaned with soap?” I feel they could have provided a few soap pods if they require you start the cleaning process for them. Despite those minor issues, we all had a good time. It was quiet and comfortable despite needing a bit of TLC. As an aside.. a journal for guests to log into would be a nice addition. Deck feels too soft to walk on, pipes need replacing badly as all the water is yellow/brown and stinks in all sinks and bathrooms. General repair needs to be addressed as the doors either do not slide at all or are incredibly difficult to open (one guest was locked in a bathroom within the first hour of being there) All the non-stick pans need to be thrown away as they are all peeling, There was no wine opener just one broken arm off one. ##### Kristen O. We stayed 3 nights in this wonderfully quirky home and enjoyed every minute. There is plenty of room for gathering together in the open living room/dining room/kitchen area with a nice view of the ocean. The bedrooms were comfortable and private. We spent hours on the beach and playing games on the lawn. Our dog had a great time as well! The yard is large but not fully fenced which might be a concern if your dog likes to roam. We stayed 3 nights and long beach is kind of perfect for a few nights only. We had a family of 4 with a very well behaved dog. The property is exceptionally clean w.r.t to Pets, we only stayed in the top bedroom but I am sure a larger family get together can use the 2 bedrooms on the ground floor as well. The kitchen was very well organized. What did we not like? - the bathroom flush took a long time to fill back up. - the water quality is well water and it stinks of sulfur :) so be prepared, we got our own water to drink rest you just have to deal with it :) ##### Rushikesh M. There should be a big sign that says do not hit the flame button on the thermostat. When we got there it was extremely hot in the house and the heat was running. We didn't know how to turn it off right away and accidentally hit the flame button which set off the alarm, very loud and wasn't sure how to stop it. The fire department came and they didn't know how either. It eventually stopped. What an experience the first 5 minutes of being there! ##### Ben T. It's not the fanciest place, but it's cozy and provided everything we needed. We cooked great food in the spacious kitchen and made a fire in the woodstove at night. We walked the short trail to the beach several times over the day we were there. If you're looking for fancy, high design modern this may not be the place for you.
