Was great waking up and feeding the chickens, guinea fowl, geese and ducks with a cup of tea looking at the lake. A great spot to unplug and relax. Fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, central heating, cooker, kettle etc. a few more utensils would be handy. Highly recommend a stay here and the owners, Amanda and Barry are friendly, helpful and good folk."

"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "I like this hotel, and have now used it twice when I come to see my son at the university. Rooms have a classically English feel, and tastefully decorated. Very quiet. The bedroom window view wasn't brilliant (brick wall), but you could see a lot outside from the bathroom window. There was an issue with the bathroom toilet which had a very weak flush. Apart from that all amenities were perfect. Bathroom was huge. Staff are extremely nice. I'm sure that the toilet thing was a one-off, and I'll probably stay there again when I'm next in York."
