WHAT’S NEARBY Pacific View Escape is in a rural area called Table Bluff overlooking the ocean, Humboldt Bay, just minutes from the Wildlife Refuge, and within a short two-and-a-half-mile drive to the beach. It's a bit off the beaten path so you may want to stock up. It is, however, centrally located on the Redwood Coast. It's about a 14-mile drive from Eureka, 11 miles from the Historic Village of Ferndale, less than 10 miles from Fortuna, and about 25.8 miles from the Avenue of the Giants and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. THINGS TO KNOW A Tesla Electric Vehicle Charger is available. This house has a backup generator. This home's WiFi is not high-speed and will not support streaming. There is a caretaker on site in the back cabin. He has off site parking and own private entrance and will not interface with with guests. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The house was so comfortable, clean, and cozy! Perfect for my family who was in town for a graduation. It was a short distance to many conveniences but far enough away that it felt private and peaceful. Thank you for the wonderful stay. We saw deer, rabbits and even had a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. We loved the open floor plan and comfortable furniture. The kitchen was well equipped. It was very quiet. It accommodates 6 comfortably. It was truly wheelchair accessible which was a necessity for our group. We were in the area to see the redwoods and this home was within 25-50 miles of Humboldt and Prairie Creek Parks which were outstanding. Vacasa should fix this. Visually you are totally surrounded by nature. Suzanne from Vacasa was outstanding supporting us in figuring out a small snafu with the tv. Previous guests had reconnected cords in the wrong connections leaving the instructions not matching up with what we were seeing on the screen. The beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water and no ant issues other guests had mentioned. For anyone who intends to cook meals I would suggest to go to Safeway in Fortuna ahead of time and stock up on your needs: coffee/tea, flour, sugar, foil, plastic wrap etc... There are some seasonings others have left. The yard was a beautiful, landscaped garden that we enjoyed strolling through and appreciating the landscaper's masterpiece. We were a bit further from the shore than we expected (there is NO way to walk to the shore from this house) but the view was still beautiful. Doors and windows had good locks so we felt safe and secure in this out-of-the-way home. All appliances worked well along with central heat. Had trouble with the lock when we arrived and the VACASA support person was fast and efficient in giving us a solution. We enjoyed the Humboldt Wildlife Preserve and the Slough closeby, along with the Avenue of the Giants redwoods and lunch at historic "Papa Jo's" in Ferndale (best sandwiches of the trip). We loved that it was secluded and enjoyed the wildlife that came through the yard regularly. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Close by hiking trails at the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. We really enjoyed sitting out on the decks and enjoying the sunshine! Both couches and chaise lounge were very comfortable. We had a wonderful time watching all the bunnies, deer and birds. It is about a 3 mile drive from the highway but we'll work it! It's so quiet and peaceful! The beach about 2 miles away is a nice beach. There is a little walk from the parking area to the beach but it's not bad.
