The château is 2 hours from Paris, 50 minutes from Le Mans and Tours and 35 minutes from Vendôme station. Facing due south, on a hillside, the château offers a breathtaking view over the Loir valley. Swimming pool (heated from April to September) on the terrace overlooking the Loir valley, with its Orangerie where you can enjoy your meals (barbecue, kitchen, fridge, cutlery, dishwasher, toilet, shower). The gîte can accommodate up to 12 adults (plus one or 2 babies), for family get-togethers or get-togethers with friends, in a peaceful and rejuvenating historic setting. It's an ideal place for teleworking, quiet and isolated (good connection via fibre + good quality 4G) or for revising for exams. Description of the château: You will be accommodated in the recently renovated eastern part of the château. On the ground floor, there is a large lounge, a dining room opening onto a small TV room, a kitchen and a PRM bedroom with its own bathroom. On the first floor, there are 4 bedrooms, one of which is a suite with its own sitting room. Beds are made on arrival and towels and tea towels are provided. On the ground floor, enjoy the terrace with a swimming pool reserved entirely for guests, an orangery with a small kitchen, a room, 2 toilets and a shower, and a room in the château where you can play table tennis in the hot weather or table football. Upstairs, each room has double beds that can be separated into single beds. The château is opposite the manor house of La Possonnière, where Ronsard lived, next to the châteaux of Poncé and Courtanvaux, and close to many typical villages, including a troglodyte, churches and châteaux that dot the Loir region. It's a quiet, comfortable and pleasant base for visiting the châteaux of the Loire Valley (Amboise, Blois, Beauregard, Clos-Lucé, etc.) and the zoos at Beauval, La Flèche and Pescheray, all around an hour away. The château is surrounded by woodland, making it ideal for a wide range of walks. A 'greenway' under the château is ideal for walking and cycling. Examples of nearby sporting activities: canoeing on the Loir, fishing, walking or cycling (bikes can be hired at 15km and available on site if requested in advance). The Marçon leisure centre, 30 minutes away, offers access to a wide range of sports (swimming, sailing, tennis, horse-riding, canoeing, hot-air ballooning, etc....). In August, don't miss the 'Marçon Classique', a gathering of over 1,000 old cars, the music festival in Montoire and, at the end of August, the music festival in Poncé sur le Loir. The du Bellay and Hautefort families (including Marie, who was the platonic mistress of Louis XIII and, lady-in-waiting and confidante of Queen Anne of Austria, was exiled here by Richelieu) lived in the château. After the French Revolution, the Marquis de La Roche Bousseau renovated the château, adding period decor in the Violet de Duc style. When we first saw the photos we went “wow” but when we saw it for real we were even more impressed! The Chateau and it’s surroundings are truly breathtaking and the owners are doing a great job renovating and making improvements. The pool area in the converted orangerie is a great example. There were two toilets, a shower and a small kitchen and large dining area. Lots of room to spend all day at the pool. Inside the Chateau the bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. There was even a laundry room - which was handy as we were a family of 9 on this trip. If you have someone who is disabled or struggles with stairs then the downstairs bedroom and en-suite were fantastic. Overall we had a great time, including lots of great meals in the lovely dining area. Many thanks for your hospitality, Marina and Phillipe! ##### Simon B. The property is beautiful and even better than the pictures. There is so much history in this exquisite home. It is updated with comfortable and new bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. There is character in the historic wood floors and stonework. The owners are fantastic and outstanding and extremely kind. They went above and beyond for us and made our stay incredible. The spiral staircases may be difficult for people with limited mobility, but the downstairs bedroom has been outfitted with a large and accommodating bathroom/shower for those differently abled. Malgré un temps mitigé, nous avons pu profité de la piscine chauffée et de l’orangerie très bien restaurée et aménagée avec goût. Pour nos 3 familles de 4 soit 12 personnes, le gîte est idéal. La vue depuis les pièces de vie est magnifique. L’accueil et les conseils des propriétaires ont largement contribué à nous faire passer un séjour très agréable. Très beau château, décoré avec goût avec vue imprenable sur la campagne Sarthoise. Nous avons sejourné à 12 dans le gite du château de la Flotte lors des vacances de la Toussaint (enfants, ados, adultes et grands parents). Le gite est très propre, très confortable et bien aménagé. Très bon couchage, très grandes salles de bain, chambres spacieuses, cuisine bien équipée, grande salle à manger et grand salon avec poêle. La chambre au rdc avec sa salle de bain attenante est idéale pour des personnes âgées ou à mobilité réduite. Alors qu'il a plu et fait frais une bonne partie du weekend, nous avons trouvé le gite très agréable car bien chauffé, bien isolé et chaleureux. La salle ping pong et baby foot a été appréciée des petits et grands. Les promenades dans la forêt avoisinante (GR), nous ont permis de profiter des paysages aux couleurs de l'automne et de voir des biches. Un endroit à recommander. Nous esperons y revenir aux beaux jours pour profiter de la piscine. ##### Audrey C. Les pièces ouvertes à la location sont toutes dans un état impeccable avec des équipements de qualité (salles de bain, cuisine) et les accessoires sont à profusion, excédant largement les besoins d'un week-end de quatre jours. La piscine et l'orangerie qui la longe sont un lieu de détente et d'amusements pour toutes générations avec la vallée du Loir pour décor en arrière-plan : MAGNIFIQUE !!!! ##### Ivan R. Eine wundervolle und außergewöhnliche Zeit. Das Herz schlug schon höher als wir bei Anreise das tolle Schloss am Hügel erblickten. Die Zufahrt zum Schloss hat die Vorfreude nochmals gesteigert. Am Schloss wurden wir sehr herzlich von den Eigentümern begrüßt. Sehr nett und ausführlich haben wir den Teil des Schlosses (Ferienwohnung) sowie Orangerie, Swimmingpool und Freizeitraum erklärt und vorgestellt bekommen. Die Ausstattung einfach nur toll und sehr reichhaltig. So viel Besteck, Gläser, Geschirr etc. hatten wir noch in keiner Ferienwohnung. Die Beschreibung und Bilder auf der Internetseite geben die Schönheit der Zimmer und Bäder nicht wieder. Wir sind mit 8 Erwachsen gereist und haben alle Zimmer belegt. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohlgefühlt und haben das außergewöhnliche Ambiente sehr genossen. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben. ##### Dagmar R. Nous avons apprécié l'ensemble du séjour dans un environnement exceptionnel. Idéal en famille ou entre amis. Les derniers travaux ont permis d'ajouter un espace piscine très agréable, dont nous avons été les premiers à bénéficier, et doté d'une belle orangerie restaurée comprenant tout le confort nécessaire : cuisine d'éte, salle à manger d'été, sanitaires et douche. A noter que les équipements sont accessibles aux personnes handicapées. Les propriétaires du château sont extrêmement attentifs et compréhensifs. ##### Michèle M. J’ai loué ce château pour mon club de lecture. Nous avons tous été enchantés par ce cadre magnifique chargé d’histoire. Les châtelains ont très sympathiques, hospitaliers et flexibles. Le château est magnifique et tres bien entretenu, avec une mention spéciale pour les mobiliers de qualité et les intérieurs décorés avec goût. Un grand merci.
