Clean, basic room
The room was fairly basic, but what you would expect for the amount charged per night. It was clean and comfortable. It was quiet overnight. I did find it very hot, even with my radiator turned off.

We stayed as we were at a party in the pub which made for a great night and not far to crawl to bed after . The only disappointment was the fact that they only serve breakfast on a Saturday and Sunday.

Apart from check in a good visit
The hotel was good. However my problem which stopped top marks was check in. The staff were pleasant and polite but even though the room was paid for via yourselves and the upgrade paid for in cash they wanted my credit card details which from a security point of view I did not want to give, including expiry date and numbers on the rear. Asked to write them on paper which I refused as retired Bank Inspector knew the risks. They then insisted I put it on virtual diary. Which I did after protests. Also my passport which I didn't have or been asked for before when in same country. The risk is that somone could use my credit card details on line. I will be checking my statement regularly. Not suggesting they would do anything inappropriate but the risk is there. Spoilt what could have been an excellent review.

Room was pretty basic but clean apart from a stale smokey smell in bathroom which was a bit suspect that maybe previous occupants may of smoked in there with the extractor fan on. Beds were clean & comfy. Parking space is pretty limited. The hotel location was great for all the nearby beach & local attractions. All within walking distance. Breakfast was very nice but could do with a Breakfast menu as we had to ask what was available. There is an extra charge for breakfast. We had to fill in a form on arrival of all the usual name, address etc but was a bit uneasy about filling in full credit card details, as room had already been paid for. Was great to have an iron, ironing board & hairdryer in room. Would stay here again :)

Thank you for taking the time to give us a nice informative review. Apologies if there was a smell of smoke detected in the bathroom. Unfortunately not all guests keep to the hotel policy and follow the code of conduct, but I am glad that you understand that. We do obtain credit card details for security reasons, these can be inputted straight to our channel manager & only accessed by the general manager once. they are then automatically deleted after your stay. When you pay expedia directly, they have your card information but they provide us with a virtual card payment which means we don't ever see your card information. I am so glad you would choose to stay with us again. We hope to see you soon.

Bar below has music blasting out. Arrived at 5pm, left at 7pm because it was too loud. Went and stayed somewhere else.

I am extremely sorry to read this. Certainly as we only have low level background music playing between 5-7pm. However, if you had mentioned this to any staff members they would have been happy to help and find out where the noise was coming from. There were no complaints about the noise/music coming from the bar from any of our other guests, and when we carried out our usual noise checks everything was at an acceptable level. I am sorry that you felt you had to leave rather than to come and speak to us about this issue.

Thank you for your review Carol. We are sorry to hear that you found the distance a little too far from the city centre. If you choose to stay with us again, the staff at the hotel can arrange the cheapest and fastest commute for you to the city centre or point you in the right direction for public transport, as we are only a 5 minute walk from train station and it is only a 20 minute train ride over.
