Very cute cabin- comfortable and private. And the extra little bedroom was great for our son. Only thing that detracted was the approach to the cabin once on the property. Could be cleaned up a bit to the left of the cabin.
Girls trip getaway here was a great location, away from the touristy crowds. Peaceful & serene beauty surrounded by trees. Love the easy check in/out via text info including keyless door codes. Only wish firepit was usable otherwise no biggie.
Would stay again!
The difficult issue is cell phone service, which is the main form of contact for the office, but we absolutely love this place and this will be a forever go to spot for us! Quiet, cozy, Victorian, hardwood floors. Beautiful rooms. Wonderful short distance to Mendocino. Just love it!!!
Convenient location, good parking, and basic amenities make this a good place to stay. They provide blackout curtains, which are helpful, but outdoor lighting seeps in. If you are sensitive to light bring your night mask. It would have been lovely to have screens on the windows because it was warm enough to want the windows open all night. Some of the rooms have better seating than others, so if you like to lounge then select one of those.

The first place we stayed at Quail cottage is very run down. We asked to move and the terrific staff moved us to a better apartment. The property is a little run down. On the second day one of the toilets stopped worked and they couldn't fix it. Wouldn't recommend except for the wonderful staff that were helpful.
Had a wonderful 3-day weekend in Mendocino, and Dennen’s Victorian Farmhouse was the perfect place to stay. I arrived with my pup, Rumble, and the location couldn't have been more perfect. Check-in was easy, and all the instructions were sent the morning of our arrival. The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable, and I loved that they provided a welcome letter for Rumble with some treats. I couldn't be happier with our stay!
I liked Dennen's Victorian Farmhouse. It is not luxurious, but it is comfortable, clean, secure, convenient, and close to the town of Mendocino and lots of beautiful areas.
I was not satisfied with everything, but it was not because the staff was uninterested or negligent. I responded to their request for feedback, and I told them what I thought could be improved easily. They were very receptive. So, they are not perfect, but they try, and it was more than good enough for me.
Dennen's Victorian Farmhouse is well located just south of Mendocino. The instructions to enter our room were given to us the day of our visit by text, as there are no staff onsite. Directions were easy to follow, and we were inside and relaxing within minutes. Even though no one was there to talk to, we didn't feel neglected. We could text if we wanted to, or visit with staff located next door at The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek. We were well stocked with amenities. Coffee or tea in our room, plus a bottle of Husch wine to enjoy. Excellent wine. At the Tea room in the main house, you could enjoy games, books or great tea. I was told the farmhouse was built in the late 1800's. We were in the Sunrise/Sunset room in another building on the property. Everything in the room was very clean and the room spacious. As with older properties, though, some wear was evident although it didn't diminish my appreciation for this property. We'll definitely be back.
Our stay was good overall, the only issue was the smell of burnt wood in the room. It was really strong where we had to open the windows. Other than that, staff communication was great. Area was nice as well. Easy parking. Bed was comfortable. Cool Victorian experience
Beautiful place! Clean, super charming. It was the perfect peaceful getaway for my husband and I. Close to town, beach, hiking, everything you need. Love that they text you for check in so it's super easy and you can easily contact someone if you need anything. We will definitely be back!
Very dog friendly place. Room was comfortable. So was bed. Very welcoming place. Nice break from TV. Quiet and felt secure and safe. We will definitely return and recommend. I sign to the check in office would have been helpful because they didn't have my phone number to text instructions. Took me a while to find the office.
We had a wonderful stay at the Quail Cottage! The kitchen was great and the property was calm and relaxing. We hope to stay here again soon!

The location was great. The TV needed some explanation on what was available to watch.
The shower/tub was a little hard to get in and out of. We had ants in the kitchen area and a few in the bathroom. The ants got into a bag of pastries we left on the counter in the kitchen area for the next days breakfast, so that was disappointing.
Furniture is pretty old and outdated.
