This hotel was amazing! Loved the boutique hotel and how each room was different and each room was very cute. The staff is very helpful and always cheerful and welcoming. Location was superb. Would absolutely stay here again.
In over 50 years of visiting hotels in Europe, I have never had such an elegant breakfast. The food in setting was spectacular. Live music both days--violin and piano. Wow!
The hotel is so beautiful and the rooms were stunning! The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great, tucked away on a side street but next to a lot of shopping and food. We were able to walk a lot of places. The breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay there again!
Excellent service from multilingual, friendly, knowledgeable staff. The historic details of the building are incredible from the walls, to the art, to the furniture. Great breakfast selection. We loved paying extra for the opportunity to listen to live Fado music at dinner one night. The hidden garden patio was a serene place to sit and enjoy a drink. It was nice that tea was available 24/7. Excellent location, quiet overnight. Would absolutely stay here again.
A beautiful merchants manor home with very elegant touches. The location is great for restaurants and some shopping. The breakfasts were delightful, with piano and violin music in the background.
Most importantly, the staff was kind and very helpful.
We highly recommend Palacio Das Especiarias! The property back to classier times when architecture and decor mattered. Clean rooms, very nice breakfast offerings and close proximity to many of Lisbons sites.
Loved it! Stayed with my daughter for a long weekend. Staff were lovely, location great, hotel and room were beautiful, additional features like wine and cheese, the spa and piano at breakfast were fabulous. Wonderful.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The hotel was central to shops and restaurants! Miguel and Daniel were Super helpful with all their recommendations and check in. The breakfast spreads were excellent and delicious ! Thank-you! Katy, TX
The decor was beautiful, with wonderful furniture and art and quirky layouts that made the old palace charming and inviting and a delight. The staff was terrific, the complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the location was in the heart of the old part of town. One of my favorite hotels of all time.
Beautiful hotel. Very well maintained and lots of great spaces to sit and contemplate or share a drink. Rooms have balconies which is very nice. Great breakfast. Helpful staff. Great location.
One of the best hotels in Lisbon. Our twin room with a garden view was clean and cozy, the staff were very attentive, and the location was perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the city center and train station. I would definitely stay here again.
Where do i even begin, i am so in love with this hotel. Everything about it is magical, the moment you step in you're being greeted by kind, warm staff & the apple cinnamon scent of the hotel. We stayed in the Diamond 5 for four nights and everyday was like waking up in a dream. I have never been happier in my life. My husband & i are now at a 5 star hotel but all i can think about is Palacio das Especiarias, so we have just booked another 3 nights at the Palace despite having another hotel booked already.
Nothing else compares to staying in the palace, trust me. It's magical, beautiful, so well thought of, everyone there goes above and beyond, i truly have nothing bad to say at all. Thank you to the staff who made the experience so great, and for upkeeping the beauty of the palace. As a lover of art, this is exactly where you'd want to be. The hotel is also in a PERCECT location, walking distance to many amazing restaurants and for shopping. I can't wait for my upcoming stay!
Stunning rooms, very clean, comfortable bed, kind and caring staff, wonderful hot tub and sauna with an appointment and you can also make an appointment for a massage. It's centrally located and can easily access downtown neighborhood and other nearby neighborhoods with fantastic shops. Very walkable, keep in mind that the tiles you walk on are from the 1700's, they're rocks that have been polished from so many walking on them and can be a bit slippery at times. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel if you're not able to find street parking. Overall a home away from home.
We certainly enjoyed our stay in this historic property. The rooms in the common areas were quite palatial, featuring high ceilings and appropriate furnishings of an era gone by. The service offered by our concierge Ana was simply outstanding. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome, checked in our bags before the room was ready, provided directions to the meeting point on a local tour, and then messaged me when the room was ready for check in. All other staff members were equally helpful. I must mention how much we enjoyed the breakfast each day where they served a wide variety of items and delicious coffee in a beautiful dining room accompanied by a pianist and often a violinist playing soothing classical music. The hotel itself is located on a hill close to the Rossio Square and other attractions on the Tagus River. We found walking down the hills to be pleasant enough and used Bolt to book rides back to the hotel.
We took advantage of the daily 4PM wine offer served with olives and cheese in a lovely shaded garden. There we also enjoyed cocktails mixed at the bar with other beverages available for purchase. We also reserved the three course Fado dinner served in a special room with live entertainment.
Rooms in similar hotels are often a bit small and this was no exception, especially the bath room. A door did open out to the balcony, the wifi and AC worked well. The floors all have elevator service. I would recommend!
The "spa" was a bit disappointing if only because the "pool" was much smaller than it appears to be in the hotel picture. Otherwise beautiful hotel + excellent amenities and breakfast.
