Nomad's Chiado Square Lisbon & River is located in Praça Luís de Camões, one of the most busy and beautiful squares of the city and right in the heart of the historic neighbourhood of Chiado. It's the perfect place for you to relax after a day shopping around, while enjoying everything Lisbon has to offer. It's one of the favourite meeting points, specially if you're looking to have fun in the nightlife of Bairro Alto, and it's also one of the mandatory stops of the mythical 28 tram.



Located in the 4º floor (without elevator) of one of the most contemporary buildings surrounding the Praça Luís de Camões, Nomad's Chiado Square Lisbon & River is a spacious one bedroom-apartment, with living room, dedicated dining room, a fully equiped kitchen, a private bathroom (suite) and a balcony with a magnificent panoramic view of the square and Chiado, with the Tagus River in the horizon.



For the purpose of a safe stay, guaranteeing comfort in each of the apartments and complying with legal reporting obligations to the Portuguese authorities, identification documents/passport are requested on or before check-in.



A damage deposit of EUR 100 is required, to be charged up to 7 days before arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out, subject to an inspection of the property.

Beautiful and bright corner apartment!

We absolutely love staying at this property. Every window in the unit opened up to the beautiful sounds and smells of Lisbon. It was easy to drown out any noise by closing the shutters, but we loved it open. I spent my first full day in the apartment recovering from food poisoning. It had all the comforts of home plus a beautiful space of and balcony to experience the city from above. We are 65 year olds and in pretty good shape, and we knew what we signed up for with the five flights of stairs. Besides the luggage… we need to learn to travel later…, it really wasn’t a difficult climb for us.I would highly recommend this apartment to my friends. We loved it there!

Great location, great view, overall good, but...

The location and the view cannot be beat. And considering that this is an apartment for only two people, it is spacious with generously sized rooms. With all windows and shutters closed, we found the soundproofing worked well especially considering how central this neighbourhood is.But there are some cautions to be aware of:- The fact that the shower door does not seal and the shower doesn't drain properly and therefore causes flooding is a huge pain as other reviewers going back some time have noted. Considering how longstanding these issues are, I naively assumed the property managers would have fixed them. But no. We eventually figured out how to mitigate the problem. We also requested a lot more towels to clean up the mess, which were delivered the next day. My view is that the property managers should, at a minimum, provide clear instructions on how to deal with this issues plus sufficient towels to clean up. It was an unnecessarily super stressful start to our stay.- Notwithstanding what is stated in the description of the property, the bed is not king size. It is a queen. I asked the property manager to correct this misleading information, but as of the time I am writing, it has not been done.- While the clothes washer worked well, the drying cycle did not. This could be a "me" problem, but noting it in case it is a genuine issue.- The AC may have trouble keeping up when the temps outdoors are high. It was adequate when we visited in April.

Fantastic location and view in Chiado!

Two of us stayed in this apartment for 10 nights in October 2024 and had a wonderful time! Trust the listing...this is an historic building and there are five flights of stairs to get to the apartment. The stairs are worth it but they're real. Pros and cons below. PROS: * Wonderful location and view - lots to walk to and close to several public transportation options. * Prompt communication from property manager, Joao * Spacious apartment, lots of light, high ceilings * Washing machine came in handy for a long stay * Well-stocked kitchen * Strong wifi that remained consistently connected during the 10 days we were there. CONS: * The outside door is not marked with the address, so we struggled for a while to find the entrance. After a long day of travel, this wasn't ideal. It would be helpful to have a picture of the door or a note about which stores are on each side in the check-in instructions. * It's an old building and has old building charm, but it also has a few old building issues. Joao was very responsive when we ran into problems and made things right, but I agree with the other reviews that the apartment could use some attention and repairs. The issues we ran into (leak during the rain, outlets not working) were minor and did not impact the satisfaction with our stay. * For a longer stay, it would have been nice to have a few extra pillows, towels, and blankets. Overall we were very happy with our stay and it was a great home base for our trip!

Great location!

Location is the biggest plus. Walking distance to all the major tourist attractions, oceanfront, and 5 star restaurants. The flat is on the fifth floor. Not for the faint-hearted! We were going up and down several times a day and we are physically fit but still felt winded. Keep that in mind. Especially with your bags. The flat is very spacious. It was clean. Lots of natural light which we loved. Bed is comfortable. There's zero noise from the square below which is fantastic! Shower is handheld/telephone shower. Spray is strong but water leaks from the shower handle. Water also leaks into the main bathroom floor from the shower pan. We just lined the floor with towels. There was no guidebook with suggestions on where to go and what to eat. We had stayed in Porto the previous day and their apartment manager had a very helpful document with all kinds of tips and suggestions.. Communication was great with the property manager. He responded quickly and was courteous. Don't message them through VRBO, though. They don't respond at all. Instead, I used email and then primarily whatsapp to communicate with the manager. It took them a long time to send me the link to make my payment. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

Amazing location in Lisbon

We enjoyed our week-long stay in the apartment. The location is amazing. The kitchen and bathroom could use a bit of TLC but overall, we love this place with lots of light coming in. Joao was very helpful, check-in/out very easy. We will be back!

Good location, large space

Unit is very large and bright, excellent location. Busy plaza below but thick windows help with noise. You will hear police sirens, motorcycles and the upstairs floorboards - bring ear plugs. Bedroom can be kept nice and dark. A/C works well, Wi-Fi is also fast but has to be reset every few days. The washer/dryer was much needed and appreciated. Ask the host for the instruction manual. The bed isn’t an American king-size, close but not quite. Also keep in mind 4th floor in Europe is 5th floor in America ;) Several lights didn’t work including 1/2 of the kitchen lights, several exposed wires, and a bathroom sink is missing a drain stopper (mind your jewelry!). The shower head doesn’t stay upright (I rigged it with a hair tie) and hot water is limited. There are tiny ants everywhere and we’d find them in the bed/shower/couch/sink/clothes, etc… harmless and not a lot, but just be aware. Overall this was a very large place with an awesome view and a nice stay that could use some TLC, bug spray and minor repairs.

WARNING: Read BEFORE you book!:The property is a very attractive unit in the heart of a heavy tourist area, but has a number of issues that make it a mixed bag at best. It overlooks a beautiful square in the Chiado neighborhood, which provides a great view, but there is an continuous FLOOD of both teenage tourists and vehicle traffic that flow through the streets directly below the apartment until well past 3AM *EVERY NIGHT*. Between the drunken laughing, singing, fighting, car horns, and ambulance sirens - all funneled by the stone architecture of the surrounding building directly into the unit - it was impossible to get any rest until maybe 4AM. The unit does have good windows that seal very well when tightly shut, and reduce the noise significantly, BUT doing so quickly raises the temperature in the unit into the high 80s, making it impossible to sleep. Which leads to the first of the maintenance issues in the apartment:- The AC does not work at all, but rather just blows warm air. I spoke to the mgmt company about the problem, and they were understanding, but were unable to make any repair option available until we were about to depart. I have no idea if they were able to resolve the issue after we left, but we would not stay there again until the AC is fully working, Without it, it's impossible to sleep without the windows open, and leaving them open makes it impossible to sleep due to the noise.More pros/cons to unit, but web site won't let me add more :-(..

Eine schöne Altbauwohnung in Ecklage mit schicker Ausstattung. Nicht alles hat perfekt funktioniert (undichte Duschkabine, lose Steckdosen), dies war aber nachrangig. Wir haben es genossen!

Wonderful Stay at Mass Flats in Lisbon

We spent three nights at this property. It is exactly as advertised. Beautiful, clean, central, and surprisingly quiet for the location. The kitchen is well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Appartement spacieux et bien situé

Appartement avec de beaux volumes en plein centre ville, avec vue mer (une belle surprise), mais au 4e étage sans ascenseur, sachez le, c'est très haut ! Toutes commodités à proximité immédiate (commerces, supérettes, métro et le fameux tram 28E au pied de l'immeuble). Accueil sympathique et précis, en anglais, par Joao. L'appartement est confortable et bien équipé, mais mériterait néanmoins quelques travaux de rénovation (bloc clanche de porte qui se détache, spots de la cuisine HS, bac douche à changer, tissus du canapé et des coussins à laver, traces dans et sous les WC qui pourraient être nettoyées). Lit confortable et beaucoup d'espace pour une capacité de 2 personnes. Isolation phonique appréciable car en bas sur la place c'est la fête en continu !
