We rang ahead as soon as we landed to say we may be a little after 11pm as that was the latest check in time for the receptionist to say if you’re late we won’t allow you in. Poor service when we got there. Great location just off the main high street but not noisy...only downside is the 3-4 flights of stairs to the rooms. Clean rooms, new bath room, good size rooms for a hostel. A big plus is the hostel staff were very welcoming, attentive and nice people. Tout est très propre, les personnes qui travaillent là super gentilles et disponibles. Attention si vous venez en voiture, pas possible de se garer dans le quartier. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the location is excellent. It is a budget hostel in an old building with a shared bathroom and shower, and you have to carry your luggage up four flights of steps, but the value is excellent. The rooms open onto a shared balcony with an incredible view of Rua Augusta both up toward the heart of Baixa and down just a few blocks toward the Lisboa Memoria and the riverfront. There are lots of great restaurants in the neighborhood just around the hotel. It's just a short work to the Barrio Alto in one direction and Alfama in the other. Nice, kind helpful staff, clean room, but the windows of my room had some gap between floor, so cool wind were coming inside whole night. Gleich zu Beginn wurden wir unheimlich nett begrüßt und herumgeführt. Man fühlt sich in diesem Hostel direkt zu Hause. Es ist ein Hostel, kein Hotel, das sollte man wissen. Ein kleines Manko ist der fehlende Aufzug im Treppenhaus – unser Zimmer befand sich im vierten Stock. Es gibt aber auch Zimmer im zweiten Stock – wer nicht gerne Treppen steigt, bittet am besten bei der Buchung um ein solches. In unserem Zimmer schloss die Tür zum Balkon leider nicht 100%ig (kleiner Spalt), was in Lissabon meistens wohl komplett unkritisch ist; leider hatten wir ein paar kühlere Tage erwischt. Es wurde uns aber schon bei der Anreise eine kleine Heizung angeboten (so kalt war es dann aber doch nicht). Das Hostel ist vorbildlich sauber, auch und vor allem im Sanitärbereich. Die Badezimmer werden geteilt (auf unserer Etage befanden sich zwei Bäder und sechs Schlafzimmer mit jeweils, 2 oder 3 Betten). Die Badezimmer waren (mindestens) täglich gereinigt und die Handtücher getauscht. Eine kleine Küche steht für alle zur gemeinsamen Nutzung zur Verfügung, außerdem ein kleines "Wohnzimmer". WiFi ist kostenlos (und flott). Insbesondere durch den wirklich unheimlich freundlichen Service haben wir uns absolut wohl gefühlt.
