Fast Internet Located next to the “Portuguese Champs Elysées” – Avenida da Liberdade – this apartment is perfect for those who like tranquil surroundings and a touch of class and sophistication provided by branded stores, top-end restaurants and elegant streets. Right in the middle of central Lisbon, this spacious 6-bedroom apartment with a bow window and a separate dining room is ideal if you fancy the comfort of feeling at home. DESCRIPTION Space, comfort and class define an apartment situated in one of the most impressive buildings in a street parallel to Avenida da Liberdade. Built in the Belle Époque style, with bow windows, a lift and beautiful tiles in the lobby, it’s easy to feel like you’re in Brussels or Paris, famous for their Art Nouveau architecture. The spacious living room has tall windows with lovely painted details and an unusual bow window (these are very rare in Lisbon), which looks onto buildings from the 30s and 40s. Particularly striking is the bow window area, which has beautiful stucco decorated ceilings. There is a separate dining room with a table for 12\. Bedrooms are attractive and colorful and include white laced curtains. The bathrooms have been renovated, as has the fully equipped kitchen. NEIGHBORHOOD Avenida de Liberdade is the most sophisticated and expensive avenue in Lisbon. Defined by a combination of Belle Époque and modern buildings as well as many leafy trees, here you can find stores of brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Carolina Herrera, Gucci, Cartier and others. 5-star hotels and top-end restaurants complete the description of an Avenue where, in the 19th century, Portuguese high society loved to walk, greet people of similar status, talk business and flirt. Yet, the area is also home to local grocers and shops as well as small, inexpensive and rather good restaurants. Located parallel to this avenue, the apartment is excellent for exploring Lisbon given its central situation. Served by metro and plenty of buses, you can easily reach the striking Praça do Comércio, Rua Augusta’s triumphant archway and the famous Martinho da Arcada café, where the world renowned poet, Fernando Pessoa, used to have his daily coffee. Lively Rossio with its many cafés is also nearby. A bit further, in the opposite direction, is Estrela Cathedral, from where you can get a perfect bird’s eye view over the city rooftops and unending blue Tagus. Buses or the metro will take you to Cais do Sodré train station, which serves the sunny Cascais and Estoril summer resorts. Within walking distance, you have the beautifully renovated Rossio train station, from where you can reach Lord Byron’s beloved town of Sintra. The metro – Avenida metro station is a 3-minute walk from the apartment – will take you to the airport or Santa Apolónia train station in less than 15 min. Taxis also abound, so moving comfortably around the city won’t be a problem. The living room is very nice for a spot for the family to hang out. The rooms were fine. Our door didn’t close completely, which wasn’t ideal, and there was a very strong, unpleasant smell coming from the back bathroom that should be addressed. The windows were beautiful and loved the old style elevator. (Only 2 can fit in the elevator at one time so be patient or take the stairs) It had everything we needed, and there was lots of space for the 11 of us that stayed there. We had three generations of adults visiting Lisbon for a family wedding. The location was just fantastic. It really was extraordinarily convenient to walk to shopping, dining, the metro and tourist sites. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It had everything we needed for our trip. Traveling with an older adult made lift a godsend after days for walking the city. Great location off the Main Street that leads down to the main squares and river of Lisbon. Felt very safe walking around and great restaurants nearby. The apartment has lovely high ceilings with a good sized lounge and separate dining room. The kitchen is small and a little dated - we didn’t cook. Only the lounge and one bedroom have air conditioning, the others have fans, not all of which were effective. A couple of the bedrooms also had a musty odour. If staying in the height of summer check the fans are working! Check-in is 5 Pm, which is later than we have experienced previously. ##### Louise T. Loved the apartment- it had plenty of rooms and it was what they stated in the pictures. The location was perfect - LOVED the front room so full of light and the windows allowed for cross circulation. There is only one bedroom with airconditioner and the family room. They dont get it very cold but with the temp at 75 outside the apartment did not get very hot and at night the windows open cooled it down. It is a noisy street from wed- sunday with restaurants and bars downstairs. They are building a new bldg across the street and you hear that in the AM. We enjoyed our stay in this property. Very spacious. I would have given 5 stars if not for 2 things. First we did not know that it’s not AC in all rooms. This was one downfall as summers in Lisbon gets super hot. We especially looked for a place that advertised with AC, maybe the add should include AC only in living room and one bedroom. The other downside is there’s a weird smell, specially in the kitchen. Perhaps old pipes? And kitchen is a bit small. But other than that, it’s a lovely space. Very elegant. ##### Aileen L. We had 11 people and we did well. The living room, dining room and kitchen are great. The bedrooms vary in size and location, some are convenient to bathrooms and some are not. The beds are small when used individually, mostly in width. When two are put together to make one it’s okay. A large person will likely be uncomfortable in a single bed. The bathrooms are clean but old and outdated. One bathroom has an odor from the tub drain. It’s not unbearable but it’s there. That tub has a great large overhead shower head but if it’s used there is water all over the floor because there is not a good shower enclosure. In general the bathrooms are usable but could easily be improved. The kitchen is great but with small improvements can be better. For example there is only on frying pan. Despite these issues it’s a nice place to stay for a large group and ideally located but thought these issues might be considered when making a reservation. ##### Joe L.
