The location was great, staff was very attentive in anything we needed. It would have been very helpful if there had been a map of some sort with bus or train locations or special attractions near by. Hard when you are totally new to an area and only have 2 days. Excellent accommodation. Clean and spacious. Small kitchen (equipped), living room, bedroom and bathroom. Great location. Safe neighborhood. Easy walking distance to everything. Just across the street was a nice breakfast cafe. Highly recommend the Casas da Baixa. Communication with Diogo was excellent.

We stayed at Casa da Baixa by Jules & Madeleine for three nights. The location is ideal for exploring Lisbon, and the room was charmingly decorated to reflect the feel of a traditional Portuguese apartment. While the room felt a bit aged and it was well-equipped with all necessary amenities. ​Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a broken air conditioner during a warm stretch. Because the street outside is busy and noisy, opening the windows at night wasn't an option thus making it very difficult to sleep even with the fans provided. The lack of sleep definitely drained our energy during the day. ​While it was frustrating that the issue wasn't resolved while we were there despite multiple emails, the post-stay management was commendable. Andre, the manager, reached out to acknowledge the issue and offered a fair partial refund for the inconvenience. ​It's clear the management cares about accountability and guest satisfaction. Once the AC is properly fixed, this would be a solid choice in Lisbon.
