Azalea Garden Inn

2/10 Terrible

"The bathroom was infested with ants! We had our toothbrushes on the counter and woke up to ants all around them, on them, the trail. I have pictures and videos I will share with the property manager. Also, the staff did nothing when we told them about the ants. The floors were dirty. Definitely do NOT recommend staying here!"

"I enjoyed my 4 nights at the Boxwood Lodge. My room was very clean, especially the bathroom. It appeared to be recently remodeled, the beds were comfortable and the large mini fridge had good freezer space, the Keurig coffee maker and microwave looked new. Wish there had been a table in the kitchen area to store food & drinks. We asked for another chair and side table to be brought in, which the staff happily did for us. The room was very quiet, did not hear road noise. Our stay was during the week, so our room did not have neighbors, which was nice. The only uncomfortable issue we encountered was while the rooms near us were non-smoking, but as nice as the outdoor temps were, we could not leave the door open for fresh air or enjoy sitting on the porch in the rockers due to the outside smoking by others a few doors down, who seemed to be smoking a lot in their rockers. Lots of good parking available. The gals at the front desk were very helpful with requests we made, and with recommendations for restaurants and museums nearby. The walking proximity to the lovely downtown Blowing Rock area was perfect. We will definitely be returning for another stay at this lovely, well maintained inn."

"We didn t realize we would need to register at the Meadowbrook Inn and it took a little time to locate it. Property was very clean and adequate, but obviously older structure with front door that was sticking and bathroom door that wouldn t close totally. The bathroom could really use a small open shelf to set toiletries. Enjoyed the stay regardless."

"Our room was on the lower level, which felt like a basement (room had no windows). The room itself was okay, nice pitcher of water and glasses set out for us, which was nice. Linens and towels were good quality and very clean. Bed was comfortable, we slept well. Couldn’t wash my hair in shower because rainhead had weak pressure and would have taken forever to rinse out shampoo. The lower level hallway to the room smelled a bit musty and seemed a little run down. Parking was a bit rough since it’s in a separate area from hotel and it was raining. Breakfast and coffee in the lounge was excellent. Staff was very nice. All in all we would stay again but maybe not get a lower level room."
