Romantic Retreat: Mt. Views, Hot Tub, Movie Theater
10/10 Excellent
"Our family had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at the cabin. Everything we needed was there and we had fun with all the amenities like the projector and hot tub. I could sit in that porch swing all day reading! My son loved sleeping in the loft. Highly recommend eating at Maple Soul if you stay here. Jeff was a very considerate and responsive host. He was kind enough to give us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. My son loved meeting his dog, Chester. It was a very peaceful and lovely time away from home and we hope we can return sometime soon."
"My comment is specific. I lost a pair of sunglasses and inquired at the reception desk whether a pair had been found. The person at reception said something like "no, not since I've been at the desk". But what about during the prior shift? She couldn't be bothered to get up out of her chair to look. Perhaps I lost my sunglasses elsewhere, but I would have liked this person to at least pretended to care and to look to see if my sunglasses had been returned."
"The shower and breakfast weren't the best but the building was really nice, very well located. Loved our family room. Really appreciated the mini-split air conditioning on a very hot weekend! We would definitely stay there again."
"From the very beginning the host was amazing. He notified me within minutes of booking to verify the date as I had booked for the following year by mistake. The host was great got us in for the current year. We booked the little loft, as soon as we arrived we noticed it was incredibly hot inside, within minutes of walking in the host was calling me to let me know the maid had notified him of an issue with the a/c unit a couple hours earlier and maintenance was pulling in that very minute. Maintenance did what they could with the a/c unit and we went to our dinner reservation with plans to notify the host, upon our return, of the temperature. It was still very hot when we returned. A quick text to the host and he told me the property just up the road had not been booked and we could transition into the “Birch Barn”. The loft was beautiful and amazing in all its tiny-ness but the barn was overwhelmingly amazing. This property has it all, the wife and I felt like royalty in this majestic palace in the woods. Thank you host for helping to make my wife’s birthday get away one we will never forget. We look forward to booking one of these amazing properties again."
"We stayed in one of the rooms in the Carriage House (as opposed to the Main House). It's by the road but wasn't too loud. The grounds are impeccably kept, with beautiful flowers and veggies growing everywhere. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast (shout-out to Linus for being the most friendly and welcoming server!). Beautiful porch spaces for eating and relaxing, including a great screened in porch off the back of the Main House where we enjoyed the sunset. The room was not huge but the bathroom was nice. The decor is funky and more on the modern end, so if you're looking for a traditional Victorian vibe, this isn't it.
We enjoyed learning about the history of the home and the area, and catching a glimpse of Griswald, the Official Inn Cat."
"For nowhere Vermont, this is a little gem. There is a creek nearby that adds to that out in nature experience. This was the first time experience with a online check-in with no front desk attendant. It worked out okay, but very different from the normal 24 hrs. front desk attendant."
"This property is very accurately advertised and the views are stunning. There is a deck and private lake access. Everything was clean and check in was straightforward. Stephen was very easy to contact as needed. There are neighbors on either side, but the place is still quite private, and at least when we were there, the two adjacent properties seem to have been empty."
