About this property
Pelican Keel | 4BR, Bay Views & Walk to Beach + Bay
Pelican Keel — Your Family's Home Base in Historic Taft
Pelican Keel is a dog-friendly, four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath beach house in Lincoln City's Historic Taft District, built for the moment your whole family finally gets together under one roof. With four bedrooms plus comfortable sleeper sofas, it sleeps up to 12 guests total — room for family reunions, multigenerational groups, and friends who want space to spread out, and a neighborhood worth exploring on foot once they do.
Park the car and leave it parked. From Pelican Keel, you can walk to the driftwood-covered beach, stroll along Siletz Bay to watch the resident seals (and, if you're lucky, pelicans working the shoreline), grab coffee and groceries, browse boutiques and galleries, and watch glass artists at work at the Lincoln City Glass Center. The Historic Taft District isn't just close — it's the reason to stay here.
A Home That Works for Every Generation
The main floor is built for togetherness and accessibility alike. A main-floor bedroom and full bathroom mean grandparents, guests with mobility needs, or anyone who'd rather skip the stairs can settle in comfortably without missing a moment of the group. The updated kitchen — quartz counters, stainless appliances, gas range — makes it easy to cook for a crowd, while the bay-window living room and gas fireplace give everyone a place to land at the end of a beach day. A dedicated office keeps remote work possible, and the laundry room handles sandy towels and wet dog leashes without complaint.
Head upstairs and the house essentially doubles as a second home: a full second living area, a kitchenette/wet bar, additional bedrooms and bathrooms, and a playroom for the kids. Multiple families can each have their own rhythm — a late movie for the teens, a quiet snack for the night owls, a separate space for the littlest ones — without anyone stepping on anyone else's stay.
Climb to the Crow's Nest
For the best views on the property, take the exterior spiral staircase up to the Crow's Nest — a top-floor lookout with a ship's telescope, a captain's wheel, and an ocean-themed mural that turns it into a favorite gathering spot rather than an afterthought. Scan the bay for seals, watch the sky for pelicans, or just enjoy the sea air. Every level of the home has partial ocean views, but this is where the bay opens up completely. The Crow's Nest also serves as a fourth sleeping space, with a queen and a twin sleeper sofa, for guests comfortable using the exterior stairs.
Outdoor Space Built for Dogs, Kids, and Long Summer Nights
The fully fenced, artificial-turf yard gives dogs and kids room to run without anyone worrying about sand or mud. Fire up the natural gas BBQ and electric smoker, gather around the fire table, or unwind to the sound of water cascading down the custom glass waterfall wall. Rinse off in the outdoor shower after a beach day that ran a little long. The two-car enclosed garage plus additional off-street parking make arrival — and unloading everyone's gear — simple.
The Gem of 50th Street
Pelican Keel isn't a generic rental — it's a house with personality, built for the kind of trip where everyone comes together, sprawls out, and still finds a quiet corner of their own. It's the gem of 50th Street: a stay on the Oregon Coast like no other.

If you are looking for a cute kitschy beach house, this is the place. Location was within easy walk to beach and amenities. Interesting architecture and decor, ocean is really only viewable from uppermost floor. We were one of the first few guests to stay at the property, so there were some minor hiccups. The hosts could not have been more responsive in addressing them though, great communication throughput our stay.
