The Farmhouse at Truman Lake

"The property is accommodating and welcoming. Our family required a family, and pet friendly place to stay and the big old farmhouse fit our needs. The host is attentive and responds promptly to questions. The house offers plenty of room and entertainment for a family to stay inside in case of inclement weather. There are T.V.'s in each of the spacious 4 bedrooms, large family room and kitchen. Games stored in a old chest can be played on the dining table. The home offers a mix of indoor and outdoor area for pets. The outdoor area is just out the back door and has a deck for grilling, patio furniture for relaxing and a safe fenced in area for pets. The covered patio gives shade to people and pets.Our host, Marta, communicated well with us. Marta was agreeable to work with our family on a couple special requests. Thank you so much Marta and we send wishes for much continued success in renovating this old farm house."

"We were told the room was ready. It appeared to be very clean and even smelled that way when we walked in the room. We pulled the comforter down and it was very obvious the sheets weren’t changed! There was dog hair on the sheets everywhere! We didn’t complain because we were in a small town and we had already booked through Expedia and paid up front. We literally went to their local Walmart and bought a king size comforter/sheet set and stripped the bedding . The outside was very well kept and parking was great though!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful retreat. We slept in both days because the bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend morning coffee on the deck! The kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated having access to the the washer and dryer. The location was convenient for driving to visit relatives, with easy access to Sedalia and Lee’s Summit. We regretted not booking for an additional day."

"The room was clean and had no unusual smells. The shower drain was clogged and the WiFi didn’t work so the tv didn’t work but if you are there to fish, it covered all of the bases. "

"I consider it risky to venture away from the known chain hotels, but I struck gold with this one! This was a very unique stay. It resembles a motel but doors do open to an interior hall full of antiques. We were greeted by chickens as we came out in the morning. Beds are very comfy, with soft, fuzzy blankets like home. Rooms were spotless and staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is no breakfast, but fridge in the room and access to a microwave. Rooms are decorated with the type of wood they are named after. Very comfy, welcoming, homey feel."
