The Governor’s House
A beautiful 5 bedroom historical house built in 1913 for Roy and Ellen Ayers. Mr Ayers was the Governor of Montana from 1937-1941. It is in the historical district called the “Courthouse District”. 3 large bedrooms are upstairs with one bath and 2 bedrooms are on the main floor with 2 baths. The main floor has a large living room, dining room, kitchen, game room and office. We have security cameras on the exterior of the house. They are disarmed when guests are there, unless we see there is an issue (sneaking a pet in, too many people, destructive behavior, etc).

This was a wonderful property to stay at – beautiful, clean, centrally located, well stocked, and excellent hosts! We were traveling with elderly parents and small children, and this property worked well for all of us!
Wonderful property for families or friends wanting a getaway in a very “homey” location! Loved this place for a three couple visit for Lewistown’s Centerfest Music Festival.
We all really enjoyed this beautiful historic home. Very clean and spacious in a nice neighborhood. We enjoyed the downtown shopping and fishing. Great hosts!
We were in this area for a job at a local site. It was so nice to have a clean place to return to at the end of the day! This had enough rooms for everyone to have their own privacy and the hosts were most accommodating and friendly!
The house was perfect for our visit to Lewistown for a family wedding! It accommodated our family and we enjoyed spending time on the front porch and appreciated the documentation providing the history of the house. The only downfall was not enough toiletries and garbage bags for our larger group.
Would definitely stay again!
Our kids ranged from 1-15 and they all loved it here. I fact our littles still are talking about it and how fun it was.Highly recommend. The property manager was super easy to work with.
This is the third year in a row that my family has stayed here. The house has plenty of space for a larger group. It's clean, full of historic charm, and the location is awesome! The kids walk to and from the pool and Spring Creek. It's also an easy walk to Main Street to take in the shops and restaurants. We are thrilled to be repeat guests and are already looking forward to next summer.
The house has so much charm and space! Everyone had room to stretch out and relax. The house is in a great location, quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Even saw the northern lights one night from right outside. So cool! Host communication was great, helpful and so kind. We’ll be staying here again!! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!
We had a wonderful time visiting family. The front porch was the perfect place to catch up with everyone. Lewistown is a wonderful place to visit. We hope to come back again someday.
The house was perfect for what we were looking for. Plenty of room and great location. The owner was very easy to work with. Would definitely stay again!
Plenty of space for our large family who was all in town for State Softball. Made our stay even more enjoyable to be all together and have the space to feed our high school softball team. I highly recommend this location.
We were very impressed with this beautiful house. We enjoyed the extra spaces to gather with family who came for my son’s wedding. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean. I would highly recommend!
This is the second year in a row that we have enjoyed a week in Lewistown at this property. We loved our time! Great house. Awesome location. The owners are super.
