"The place was clean and felt very cosy. It was clearly newly refurbished and was clean. The beds were not too great though. In one of the bedrooms the wooden boards under the mattress were loose and had to put back in place. That is when it became clear they had better all be replaced. The sheets were made of synthetic fibers instead of cotton. And the place is above a fish shop. The owners have done all they can to repel the smell, but there is no escaping it when you enter. "The apartment was nice. The beds were very uncomfortable due to bad mattresses. The bed linens and pillows were very dusty. It was also difficult to walk up the four flights of stairs, but that’s not the owner’s fault. The location was ok, if you don’t mind being away from the old city. "Oldish property reasonably well done inside. The apartment block in which it's located is 'tired'. The area surrounding being near the main railway station is also somewhat run down. Arriving in the dark with groups of youngsters hanging round on the street was intimidating (and my partner is originally from Troyes). Would not recommend."
