"A hotel should be even basic clean, this was far away from it. The apartment was in an untidy condition, there was obvious dirt, cigarette butts, wear and tear, the sofa was broken. We said this several times, nothing happened. It is not right that the first thing to start cleaning when entering the apartment. The dirty mattresses were lined with plastic sheets, you can't sleep on them. We would have removed those plastic sheets, but the dirty (clearly pee-soaked) mattresses were revealed...

We especially loved the balcony that overlooks the lake and chateau. The only downside is the apartment does not include linens/towels or internet, which was not communicated to us until after we paid and made the reservation. "This is truly a pretty little house and I loved it! The house in essentially in the center of the village - nearby is the market area, shops, places to eat and buy food. The house is narrow- very old - with windy staircases which just add to its character. The hosts were easy to deal with and while we didn't use it, there was a washing machine. We opted to stay overnight in Aups vs Moustiers Sainte Marie which is much more touristy. Everyone was friendly."

"Convenient location on the fringe of Old Frejus. Everything was clean and organized. Quaint room as expected with old boutique hotel. Amazing pool. The restaurant was tremendous, the food outstanding and desserts unbelievable. Not sure when we might get back to Frejus, but we would stay at Hotel L’Arena again!"

"I hate writing negative reviews, but if I saw a review like this, I would 't have made the mistake of staying. Its rare the rating system on this site fails me, but holy carp, this was not good. 6.0 at best. Didn't feel right when we pulled up in the neighborhood, no one at check-in, but keys stapled to the wall. The room was no frills, which was fine, but even the common areas were 2-star. AC not working well was the icing on the cake. We almost left, but it was just a quick crash for the night , shower and leave early in the morning. At half the price, maybe, as that would told you exactly what the place was. "

"Warning at the end! This was a lovely hotel in the heart of a charming town. The front desk person was an angel and the manager was great. Our room was spacious, compared to others we stayed in during this trip. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked fine. Very nice breakfast. The hotel only had 10 parking spaces and they were all occupied. Fortunately I was able to park on the street across from the hotel because it was a Saturday night and the parking ban there was not enforced that late or in the morning. Moral of the story: Get there as early as possible so you can grab a space. However, the garage is tight so try on-street parking if your vehicle is big."
