Perhaps we were unlucky. but the hotel appeared understaffed, with no restaurant facilities. Breakfast didn't start until 8.30pm. Also, we had to run the tap in our room for 10 minutes to get lukewarm water. On the positive side, the view from the hotel is spectacular, and there is ample car parking.

This hotel is a 2-star, at best. Dingy, outdated rooms, non-functional appliances, dirty bathroom, horrible food - the list goes on and on. We traveled through multiple parts of Scotland and, by far, this hotel was the worst.

What can I say about the carnoustie hotel and spa. One of the best stays we've ever had, great value for money and the spa is brilliant. All this is helped by the setting along the beach and world class golf course. There's easy links north and southwards from the train station, which is a 7 minute walk from the hotel. We're booked back for November, can't wait.
