The Little Blue Bungalow, a Cozy 1940’ Schoolhouse, 5 min walk to Restaurants,
This 4Br/2ba 1940’s Bamboo Bungalow is located in downtown Mount Dora, Fl . Known for art festivals and for having one of the largest antique flea markets around, Renningers just 3 mins away. The opening of the 429 makes it a quick ride to Disney and Universal. Pet friendly shopping and award winning restaurants are within walking distance with live bands and local beer from Mt. Dora Brew Pub. Catch a play at the Ice House Theatre or watch the sunset by the Lighthouse overlooking Lake Dora.
Take a trip down memory lane as you look around the house and see a mix of antique items I ve hand picked out directly from “Renningers Antique Flea Market” combined with new age decor and furniture. Every room in this vintage home has a Memory foam mattress, towel sets, new pillows and new sheets.
FUN FACT- Neighbors tell me I purchased the first elementary school of Mount Dora which was placed here in the 40 s by a sweet woman named Mrs. Race.
Inside the bamboo surrounded Bungalow you’ll find an open kitchen with all your basic kitchen essential. Open up the first set of French doors which lead to a separate living room or a possible 4th bedroom with a pull out queen-sized sofa bed and a Smart TV. The next set of French doors lead to the back porch equipped with a BBQ grill, lots of greenery and is fenced in. By the garage a mud room with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
In the morning enjoy brunch at “One flight up” overlooking the downtown area. Visit Gilbert Park with the kiddos or take a pontoon boat tour and learn about the history of Mount Dora as it flows down the Dora Canal. Shopping downtown is always fun with so many little shops with antiques to choose from. Walk over to the brewery and later grab a bite at one of the more popular pizza places around, (PizzAmore). So many restaurants to choose from to include Cuban, Italian, British, American, Thai, Mexican…the list goes on. 12 miles away in Apopka, Florida visit one of my favorite places around, Kelly Park Rock Springs. Here you can cruise down an all-natural lazy river with crystal blue waters and some of Florida s natural landscape for a relaxing day out. During the evening of the colder months the functioning fireplace is sure to keep you warm. If you’re in town during the holidays, take a walk downtown and see the many many lights and Christmas décor Mount Dora is also known for.

This location is close to everything. In a peaceful neighborhood with a park not far away. We will definitely be back to enjoy Mount Dora and stay at this adorable cottage. Home was very clean.
We were visiting for a family wedding and rented Jessa's bungalow. It couldnt have worked out better for our varied family members. All the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of spots to relax. The kitchen was well equiped, and the back deck was lovely.
Perfect for family and/or friends for relaxed 3 day weekend
By far the most beautifully decorated and comfortable VRBO we have ever stayed in - we wanted to stay longer. We enjoyed the springs nearby and a sunset cruise on Lake Dora. Jessica responded quickly to any questions and even went to check on the property before we arrived to make sure things were in order.
Our second time here at this lovely home. We enjoyed every moment. Used the golf cart ride to and from the show. Easy access. Everything was clean and comfortable.
The Blue Bungalow is an adorable property that was found to be very clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. However the house is advertised as a 5 min walk to restaurants. It is 5 min by car but not walking distance for the elderly. The house does not have a reversible a/c unit for heat. The only way to keep warm is using the fireplace that we are not familiar with it and had no instructions for its use. Sometimes the temp inside was about 40 degrees and it was hotter outside than inside. The house can use a little TLC in some places like entrance to 2nd bathroom by laundry area that had a lot of things that could have been put away inside the garage and not for guests viewing. This by no means criticizing the property, just merely to contribute to a better experience. I would gladly rent the house in summer when the weather is warmer. Thank you Jessica for a great 3 day mini vacation in Mt Dora.
We had enjoyable weekend antiquing at Renniger’s and exploring Mt. Dora. The Little Blue Bungalow is centrally located to take advantage of both and at the same time very quiet. The home was thoughtfully prepared to make our weekend with friends a memorable and stress free time together.
The house was comfortable and clean. There is sufficient parking for 2 cars. If you're looking for a vintage vibe this is the place. The futons were thin and might be suitable for children. Overall we had a nice stay.
We had a great experience at the little blue cottage for a mother daughter - girls weekend. Very cozy, clean and great communication throughout the process! I would highly recommend!
The house was perfect for us! Quiet area, large back yard for our pups, cute cottage feel, and we love Mt Dora. Lots of activities, reataurants, and shops. There are some reataurants within a five or 10 minute walk. To get downtown is just under a mile. It worked for us to walk it, but there is also a wonderful shuttle service that will come pick you up and drop you off. Jessica is an amazing host who made sure had everything we need and is local for any needs that come up.
We loved the Little Blue Bungalow the minute we walked in! Then you walk around, and realize how big it is, and see all of the little touches Jessica added. The backyard is amazing, very peaceful! Easy walk to downtown and other nearby restaurants too. Great golfing in the area at a very reasonable price. She has a list of area attractions including golf on the desk at the house.
Great location. Very quaint. Owner was warm and welcoming. House and gardens beautiful and exactly as described. Dog friendly backyard! Very enjoyable time. Next time we visit family we’ll try to book it again.
This home was warm, comfortable and cozy. My family felt instantly at home, there were plenty of spaces to gather and even games in a trunk for all to enjoy! A pleasant walk to downtown Mount Dora. There was also a lovely backyard with a fire pit too.
This was a charming house that has it all, the outside area with a deck and fire pit was just perfect for this cold weekend. It was pet friendly with a fully fenced backyard. The host even had a pet basket with needed bowls and such in case you forgot yours. The beds were super comfy. Highly recommend this location if you want to explore Mt. Dora as it is central to downtown and Renningers.
Our daughter got married in Mount Dora and we needed a home base for the wedding weekend, this home was only 15 minutes from Sydonie Mansion (the venue) and a 5 minute drive to Pisces Rising for rehearsal dinner. The home was very comfortably appointed, was very clean and tidy, easy check in process, beautiful yard and after a long wedding day we truly appreciated the extremely comfortable beds and plush linens!!!
5 adults stayed 3 nights . . . . the house had absolutely everything we needed. Jessica covered all details and her decorating style is beautiful and and inspiring. We walked to town daily - well, most of us did! We even had room for an additional couple. We've stayed in many properties in Mt Dora and this is by far our favorite.
The Bungalow is charming ! The decor is lovely and inviting , right down to the welcome note on a chalkboard . The beds were very comfortable and linens crisp . The kitchen was well equipped and roomy . It was a pleasant experience to stay in this house . The Only negative was the yard . It was fenced and roomy but in need of “ grooming” badly . There was more dirt than turf and a child or dog would not have enjoyed playing there .

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Listing is not accurate. NO TV service and no BBQ grill.
The listing states they have 2 smart TVs. It also lists cable/satellite and mentions Netflix and Amazon and an antennae. When we had trouble with the TV, the owner, Rob, was nice enough to come over and help but soon admitted there was no TV service, only Netflix and Amazon. The antennae did not work either. I am sure a lot of people are OK with no TV, but my family is not. Also, we had packed food for a nice grilled dinner the evening we arrived. Unfortunately, when it came time to cook I realized the grill was falling apart and unusable. The house was very nicely decorated and the beds were comfy, but we would have never stayed here if we knew there was no TV service or a working grill.

Bungalow Beautiful
*The bungalow is beautiful. It receives a 5/5.
*No sport channel-ESPN.
*Walk to town is more like 15 minutes.
*one towel per guest. Seems like no big deal but in a hot, humid, area, seems they could provide another towel or two.
*Advertised as 4 bedrooms. We had 3 couples. Each in a bedroom with a bed to spare, and we were charged for an extra bed. Price advertised is not accurate unless you are two people renting a 4 bedroom house.
*We must have been the first group to enjoy sitting outside because the area was not cleaned up for use. (April)
* felt the wording of the instructions a bit unwelcoming. if you leave one dish unclean, it is a $25.00 charge. Seemed a bit extreme.
Overall I gave this a rating of a 4/5 because it is absolutely beautiful and the town is lovely, and despite these small issues we had an outstanding time. Wishing everyone who rents this place and visits the same experience!
My 3 siblings and I were in Mt Dora for our Dad's memorial service. We wanted a house with a bedroom for all of us to be able to have our alone time if we wanted it. This house had that an more. There was several outside space to just sit and chill. It was wonderful
What a beautiful bungalow in a great neighborhood. We were four ladies celebrating birthdays and the holidays. Super easy drive to town and Lake Dora. Highly recommend.
The sweetest little house decorated in a shabby chic style that we absolutely loved. Jessica made the house so inviting for our pre Christmas stay with all the essentials needed and a spacious yard for my girlfriends
Shih Tzu. We will definitely come back for another visit.
