Historic and Updated Farmhouse Built in 1808
Property Overview: This 200+ year-old home was built in 1808 and is just a few miles from Oatlands Historic House and Gardens. This home can comfortably fit up to four adults. The main, tan coloredm house is where you would stay and is a fully updated federal home, lovingly restored with thoughtful attention to detail. The kitchen has marble counters, stainless steel appliances, gas range, double oven, a Keurig with a variety of coffee pods, spices to use, air fryer, and a deep farmhouse sink. There is also both antique and/ or modern china to choose from as well.
This location is in the heart of Loudoun County's Civil War history sites as well as many wineries, breweries, cideries, and distilleries. Downtown Leesburg is 7 miles away, Middleburg is 11 miles away, and Aldie is 5 miles away. Dulles International Airport is approximately 20 miles from this home. Oatlands Historic Home and Garden is right around the corner, Morven Park is 10 miles away, and Salamander Resort and Spa is less than a 20 minute drive.
This home has its original oak hardwood floors throughout, built-in bookshelves, Dish satellite cable for the television in the main living space and master bedroom with a king sized bed, board games and other activities, and much more! The main level bedroom has a full bath with a washer/dryer. The upstairs loft can be used as a second, private bedroom, with two queen sized beds, desk, and sitting area.
There is also a 2nd dwelling (the brick structure behind the main home) that is currently vacant and being restored. This was the blacksmith's home of Oatlands but at this time, is not being rented. You will see building materials and a storage unit on-site for this 2nd home but it will be out of view of most of the windows of the home you would stay in.
Due to upcoming renovation projects on this 2nd dwelling, there is a 10-night maximum stay allowed (no exceptions).

Beautiful quaint and cozy historic cottage in Aldie with excellent access to Leesburg, local wineries/breweries, nature parks/preserves, and Dulles Access Rd. We really enjoyed our stay and will go back!
Jeremy and Alison were great hosts, very communicative and accommodating. The house has plenty of character, is thoughtfully decorated, clean and cozy. I'd definitely recommend for anyone looking to rent a house in this area.
This property is cute and is in a good spot south of Leesburg but close to Aldie/Middleburg. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. If you’re into gravel cycling, it’s also very close to some great riding.
If you’re looking for an excellent place to stay that’s very clean, has very comfortable beds to sleep in, and is close to everything then this is the place to stay. The owner was very responsive to a few simple questions and was just overall excellent to work with. Highly recommend staying here.
What a beautiful historic property. The whole area is just incredible. The house had everything one could need and a many very appreciated extra touches (water system, good coffee and tea, local honey, really nice bathroom products). We loved it here and would absolutely stay again.
Great place with a cool history. All amenities were well thought out. Loved all the information that the Owner provided - both for local options while staying and historical options. Cannot recommend enough. Thanks for a memorable weekend!
We had a wonderful stay at this historic farmhouse. Jeremy is an awesome host! The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, and the property was in superb condition. Will be back !
Definitely one of the nicest properties we’ve enjoyed! Jeremy has thought of everything right down to tools for roasting marshmallows! Home was spotless, comfy, extremely well appointed & the perfect location to get to wineries. Already planning our next trip to this charming spot!
A cottage from another time in History but well maintained in a great location close to everything. 5 miles from foodlion 30 minutes from DC. You can even hitch a ride on the Metro train 10 miles away.
Neat little home built in the 1800’s. Home was neat and clean with everything we needed for our stay in the Leesburg area. A bit out of town, but it was only 15 minutes from our daughter’s house.
Lovely cottage at Oatlands with all the comforts of home
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful historic property. It’s not too far down Rt.15, so there are lots of restaurants nearby— and the Wegman’s is only 20 minutes away. We were truly able to relax when we wanted to. We found this home to be a particularly good value. Also we appreciated all the vintage, homey touches! At the same time, it’s nicely updated to include modern conveniences and is quite easy to live in.
Wow, this cottage is adorable and Wow, we had some issues upon check-in, the host could not have been more accommodating and quick to rectify the situation. While its a perfect location if you want to take a day trip to Leesburg or Middleburg, It is right on a main road with quite a bit of traffic so if you’re looking for something setback off of the beaten path, That is more remote and quiet - this one might be a little too busy and noisy for you. Really enjoyed our stay and the location
We came as a get away after Thanksgiving with our 2 kids- 23,26. The place was as cozy as it gets- had everything you could need and then some! Too cold for an outdoor fire but that area is perfect too for gathering and making memories.
The house was perfect.. It was completely stocked with more than everything we needed. The outside patio/fire pit was awesome. Owner responded right away to our messages.
I would give this 10 stars if I could!
This was our second time staying at the property and just like the first visit, it was great! The owner is so helpful and responsive to anything you may need. As we are familiar with the area, we prefer this location and would recommend it to others while traveling in the area. House has everything you may need as it is fully stocked. Can't say enough good things.
We traveled from NC and my daughter and grandkids traveled from Romania for a 6 day retreat! We didn’t have to supply anything but the food. The house was well stocked, clean and centrally located near many Loudoun Wineries. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and walk down the old dirt road near the property. The host provided great pre-visit information and clear check-out info. We will definitely be back!
We loved this place! We were here for a baby shower so we just stayed for a long weekend. It is only a short drive to Leesburg which is an awesome little town with great shops, coffee, and food. The house was extremely clean, had a beautiful kitchen, and we love how Jeremy kept the charm and personality of this old house while also keeping everything updated and easy to use or navigate. We also loved drinking our morning coffee out on the front porch. We hope this little house is available the next time we visit bc we will definitely stay again! Thanks Jeremy!
