Leeds and Grenville County Court House

Most aspects of our stay were excellent. The hotel itself is beautiful and my son loved the giant indoor pool. The rooms were clean and roomy. We had two issues that distracted from our otherwise excellent stay. First being the room AC couldn’t cool the room below 22 degrees celcius, regardless of what temp was set. The second issue was the check in and checkout staff and process. It felt like I was asking for a favour to stay here. Smiles are not free apparently, nor included in the room charge. Reception staff were generally not friendly. We were also required to present ID for all members of our party, including our 11 year old child. Asking why this was necessary didn’t provide clarity, it was just necessary and hotel policy. Not sure what would have happened if we didn’t have ID for my son. Very strange and the responses given by reception were unfriendly. Checkout was also unfriendly. Felt like an border point, not a hotel. Besides these issues all went well and the rest of the hotel staff were lovely.

We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service. But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.

There were no on-site staff, though there were cleaning people. I only got check-ininstructions a few hours before I arrived so if someone from the unconnected Business in the same building weren’t there, which was a bar, to help me with Wi-Fi I might not have been able to get my instructions easily. The place was beautiful very clean. However, the bar had some not very good music in the evening until about 10 o’clock, and also the voices coming from that restaurant bar were clearly audible from my room. Sunday night it was not a problem but Monday night I was glad I only had the one more night to stay. They gave me earplugs with my amenities,which I didn’t understand until later monday evening.
