It previously gave shelter to the vineyard workers during the season. This is reflected in the pleasant distribution of the rooms, starting with the fully renovated living/dining room. The wooden structure of the roof has been kept visible just like the stone build wall. The renovated well-equipped kitchen has a very nice view on the vineyards. In the sleeping rooms (one with a double bed and an adjacent bathroom with WC, one with two bunk beds), the simplicity of the ancient times goes well together with the vividly colored fabrics. One of the sleeping rooms has direct access to the private 25 sqm patio-terrace where the plancha-fans will be delighted by the perfectly working installations. The large table invites the inhabitants of Fanny to gather at the terrace, whenever there is an opportunity or in the adjacent piece of garden furnished with a comfortable lounge! Apartment Fanny as the other three units has full access to the pool, the parking and the garden. MAS DU GALANTIN - A 16th century Vineyard Farm (Mas Provençal), not far from the superb medieval village of Le Castellet, at 10 minutes driving distance from Bandol and the beaches: charm and authenticity in the homeland of novel writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol. We offer you to share the unique atmosphere left by our ancestors in 3 charming Provence style apartments and a historical cottage for 2-8 persons. All 4 carry names of characters from Pagnol’s “Trilogie Marseillaise” and each of them has its own personality. They all have private shaded terraces equipped with a barbecue or a plancha grill and private entrances. They have in common: a large swimming pool (11 x 5,5 m) on a property of 2.500 sqm facing the vineyards, our house mountain "Gros Cerveau" and a large private parking. They are all equipped with free wireless internet. A dream of peaceful and untouched surroundings, where the easiness of living and the famous «Provençal accent» cherished by Marcel Pagnol himself persist. Here, the vineyards of the world-famous Bandol and the bronze colored olive-trees are deployed as far as the eye can see. Mas du Galantin was first mentioned in the official books in the year 1550\. It has been extended subsequently over the centuries and reached its actual size in 1897\. Historically the property served as vineyard farm to the vine producing domain. It was only in the beginning of the nineteen sixties that both were sold to separate owners and became “Mas du Galantin” (the historical house) and “Domaine Le Galantin” (the vineyard). We had the chance to become the happy owners of the Mas in 2003\. When visiting the first time, we fell in love with the situation, the historic building and felt very good vibes at the property. We undertook over the years a series of renovations and created the parking and the garden. We created the 3 apartments in the main house – César (145 sqm, sleeping 8), Marius (120 sqm, sleeping 6) and Fanny (90 sqm, sleeping 4) were born. We transformed the cottage at the pool into a cozy apartment – the birth of Panisse (30 sqm, sleeping 4) Our guests regularly confirm our impression of our first visit – the good vibes at Mas du Galantin. They appreciate the multi-family environment. Many times, we observe children making new friends during their stay at Mas du Galantin and parents having a good time together during their holidays. So much to do in the area - 2 weeks was not enough! We stayed in apartment 'Fanny' - needs a bit of updating and although it had pretty much all we needed the mattress on the double bed really needs replacing - both came away with back-ache after 2 weeks! Would also benefit from more comfortable, relaxing chairs. Swimming pool was great and used a lot in the hot weather. Had a great first week but second week disrupted a bit by noise from other houses - all depends on who you have staying. All in all a lovely holiday! ##### Karen S. Jedoch gab es auch Dinge die uns nicht gut gefielen und die wir bei einem Objekt in dieser Preislage und der Beschreibung so nicht erwartet haben. Das Apartment Fanny ist renovierungsbedürftig, im Bad blättert der Putz und die Sanitäranlagen riechen erheblich nach Kanalisation. Das Schlafzimmer benötigt einen neuen Anstrich, die Wände sind gerade ums Bett und am Fenster sehr fleckig. Die Böden in Bad, Schlafzimmer und Küche sind in keinem guten Zustand. Das große Wohnzimmer hingegen ist sehr angenehm, der Charme eines alten Landhauses kommt hier gut zur Geltung. Darauf angesprochen antworteten die freundlichen Vermieter dies sei Ihnen bewusst und eine Renovierung wäre für den Winter geplant, zuerst stand eben die Renovierung außen an. Der Preis würde den Zustand aber reflektieren, das sehen wir nicht so und haben in der Provence genügend Gegenbeispiele gesehen. Bei Ankunft fanden wir die Küche und insbesondere das Geschirr in einem unsauberen Zustand vor. Die Küchenschränke rochen nach altem Fett, welches tatsächlich an vielen schmierigen Tellern und Gläsern zu finden war. Wir haben also erst mal das sämtliche Kücheninventar gespült. Ebenso in keinem guten Zustand waren die Gartenmöbel, die wir von Schmutz und Spinnweben säuberten. Die dazugehörigen Polster waren zudem fleckig und stark verschlissen und sollten unbedingt ersetzt werden. Die Wohnung Matisse im selben Haus hatte saubere Möbel und Polster. Des Weiteren gab es einige wirklich große Spinnweben, z.B. im Schlafzimmer direkt über dem Bett. Insgesamt hatten wir daher den Eindruck, daß nicht sorgfältig geputzt wurde. Darauf angesprochen wurde uns von den Vermietern die Reinigung am Ende unseres Aufenthalts erlassen. Dabei erfuhren wir, daß üblicherweise die Gäste die Wohnung selbst reinigen und eine Reinigungskraft nur monatlich einmal gründlich drüber geht. Leider ist auch zu sagen, daß die Lage der Wohnung nicht optimal ist. Die Aussicht geht auf eine Hecke, ganz anders als zu vermuten bei der Beschreibung. Den ständig rauschenden Verkehr (Autobahn im Hintergrund und stark befahrene Landstraße im Vordergrund) erwartet man auch nicht im Urlaub. Das Anwesen sieht auf den Fotos besser aus als es ist. Es ist nicht wirklich schön gepflegt. Vor Buchung wurde uns zugesichert, dass man die in der Nähe liegende Autobahn nicht hören würde. Das stimmt nicht. Die Autobahn ist die ganze Zeit zu hören. Das ist im Urlaub sehr störend. Die Wohung Fanny ist nicht so, wie auf den Fotos wiedergegeben. Sie ist dunkel und muffig. Wenn man zur Tür reinkommt, steht man im Schlafzimmer. Die Wohnung Marius ist sehr groß, allerdings können Personen über 1,40m das Doppelschlafzimmer unter dem Dach nicht nutzen, da man dort nicht stehen kann. Im Hochsommer wird es dort unerträglich warm und stickig. Die Wohnungen waren allerdings sehr sauber und mit Waschmaschine und allem eingerichtet. Der Mietpreis ist nicht gerechtfertigt. Als Ausgangspunkt zum Meer und den Badeorten ideal. ##### Christina F. Die Vermieter und das Personal sind wirklich sehr liebenswürdig. Sie bemühen sich, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Meer und die herrlichen Buchten sind sehr gut mit dem Auto (ca. 10 min) zu erreichen. Der Pool und die große Terasse waren traumhaft. Besonders zu empfehlen ist der kurze Gang zum nahen Bäcker. Am Abend konnten wir den Grill nutzen. Besonders für Familien mit Kindern auch für längere Ferien geeignet. Unterkunft in ländlicher Umgebung. Aber alle wichtigen Geschäfte mit dem Auto innerhalb weniger Minuten erreichbar. Ausflüge ans Meer (20 Minuten), nach Marseille (40 Minuten), das historische Dorf Castellet (10 Minuten). Ein wunderbarer Standort für den Rückzug aus dem Trubel und die schnelle Erreichbarkeit touristischer Ziele. Die Einrichtung und das Angebot lässt keine Wünsche offen: Küche, Schlafzimmer, Sanitäranlagen, Wohnbereich (großer Flachbildfernseher mit deutschen Programmen!), Terrasse mit Grill, gepflegter Swimmingpool..... Stayed 21 nights in Jun 2016 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 30 May 2016 #### Schöne und gemütliche Fereinwohnung in idealer Lage zwischen Meer und Bergen Das ehemalige Bauernhaus wurde unter Wahrung des ursprünglichen Charakters zu einem sehr schönen, gemütlichen Feriendomizil mit mehreren Ferienwohnungen umgebaut. Wir verlebten in der Wohnung "Fanny" 8 wunderschöne Tage und fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Wohnung selbst war sauber und umfassend eingerichtet. Es gibt ein Schlafzimmer, eine Küche, ein riesiges Wohnzimmer, ein kleines Zimmer mit Doppelstockbetten und ein kleines Bad mit Waschmaschine, so dass keine Wünsche offen blieben. Die Lage ca. 7 km von Bandol entfernt im Landesinneren eröffnet dem Urlauber alle Möglichkeiten, die südliche Provence zu erkunden - von der Küste über Aix en Provence bis zum Grand Canyon du Verdon. Und wenn man ruhige Tage verleben will, bieten der große Garten, die überdachte (und damit schattige) Terasse und der schöne große Pool alle Möglichkeiten hierfür. Für Grill-Fans stehen Gasgrills bereit. Wenige Gehminuten entfernt gibt es eine Bäckerei, und Restaurants sind z. B. in Bandol in wenigen Minuten Autofahrt zu erreichen. Auch in der näheren Umgebung kann man viel entdecken: Ob es nun ein Spaziergang durch die Weinberge um Le Plan du Castellet oder ein Besuch in den hübschen Städtchen La Cadière-d'Azur oder Le Castellet ist, oder ob man an die Küste nach Bandol oder Cassis fährt. Cassis ist eine sehr hübsche kleine Hafenstadt und bei Cassis kann man eine schöne Wanderung entlang der Buchten (Calanque) machen, was uns sehr gefallen hat. Auch La Ciotat ist reizvoll - es gibt dort viel zu entdecken. Uns hat es sehr gefallen, und wir kommen gerne wieder - auch länger. Peter S. aus D. Die ganze Anlage des Mas du Galantin ist sehr gepflegt und herrlich gelegen und der große Pool ist eine tolle Alternative zu den im August doch sehr vollen Stränden. Die Wohnungen verteilen sich so gut auf dem Gelände, dass jeder seine Privatsphäre hat. Gefallen hat uns auch, dass das ganze Gelände einschließlich des Parkplatzes umzäunt ist. Bei der Wohnung Fanny sieht man, dass immer mal wieder ein Zimmer an das alte Mas angebaut worden ist, was sehr charmant ist. Erwähnen sollte man vielleicht, dass das Schlafzimmer mit dem Doppelbett ein Durchgangszimmer ist, von dem auch das Bad abgeht. Wem das nicht behagt: die Schlafcouch im Wohnzimmer ist wirklich bequem und durch die dicken Mauern war es dort angenehm "kühl" nachts. Die Wohnung hat reichlich Stauraum in allen Räumen und ist super ausgestattet. Vor allem die Küche lässt keine Wünsche offen, was uns immer wichtig ist, da wir gerne auf den Märkten einkaufen und zu Hause kochen. Die große Terrasse mit dem Grill, die von niemandem eingesehen werden kann war der perfekte Rückzugsort. Bei unserer Anreise wurden wir sehr nett empfangen und bei Fragen oder Problemen hätte man sich jederzeit an die Vermieter wenden können, die sehr bemüht um ihre Gäste waren. Vielen Dank dafür und ich könnte mir gut vorstellen noch einmal, vielleicht auch zu einer anderen Jahreszeit, einen Urlaub in der Wohnung Fanny zu verbringen. ##### Anke F. Mas du Galantin is the perfect spot for a holiday where you can relax by the pool and by the house of Mas du Galantin which is a quiet, lovely place, make trips to the surrounding small villages/towns by the sea and in the countryside and go to Aix en Provence, Marseille etc. Staff is very friendly. This is a lovely farmhouse surrounded by vineyards but only a 10 minutes drive to the beaches of Bandol and Sanary. Apartment Fanny was really clean on our arrival and had a really large living room and a spacious outdoor deck area with BBQ where we ate all our meals. There was also all the kitchen facilities you would need and we particularly liked the welcome pack complete with Nespresso tablets! The beaches in Bandol are really clean and the sea great for swimming. We also did parachuting off the back of the boat which was fun. Our two girls aged 10 and 13 loved the pool which was very safe for small children. There is a lovely bakery a walk away and then you need to drive to get to local restaurants. We visited lots of local French markets - some more touristy in Bandol but also enjoyed some more local. We also had a great day at Aqualand (would recommend the fast pass) and a visit to the lovely Calanques of Cassis. Some days we relaxed by the pool and went for a walk in the small village nearby and in the fascinating landscape of this area. Within walking distance, there are several excellent wineries where the owners sell their wine after having served plentiful tastings from their vineyard. A visit to the town Le Castellet on the mountain is recommendable. The nearby town Bandol is a nice beach- and harbor town with many good restaurants. The beaches of Bandol includes several excellent sandy beaches. And nearby there are several other charming coastal towns with good beaches. We have been in the South of France / Provence several times, but we have not stayed in a place where there were so many interesting towns and places for both children and adults within relative short distances. Therefore, we describe the house as being 'in the middle of everything'. The options are many – eg. alternating between country vacation, visit historic sites beaches, and charming towns such as Aix and Avignon – just to mention. The hosts are very service oriented and accessible. The house includes facilities you would expect - and everything functioned as it should. Pleased to be in France we were delighted to find a characterful property in a convenient location, not far from Bandol, Le Beausset and the nearby villages, 5 minutes walk to the bakery although there was no footpath which made it a bit dangerous with our 4 year old son, the main road was quite busy. The sitting room was enormous and very comfortable but we didn't use it that much as the weather was so glorious, the kitchen was perfectly adequate for holiday purposes and the view from the kitchen window was nothing short of spectacular, BUT it would have been nice to have a tea towel. The bedrooms were comfortable, our son enjoyed the bunk beds in the smaller room. The outside space was ideal for us and we spent most of our time there. We cleaned the apartment ourselves before leaving and it would have been handy to have some cleaning products to help us. We had a fabulous holiday, and it is quite likely that we will return to Mas du Galantin. ##### Paula A. Das Wetter herrlich, die Glyzinie vor dem offenen Küchenfenster betörend duftend, die uralte Platane daneben angenehmen Halbschatten spendend. Die Athmosphäre des alten, witzig verschachtelten Gemäuers hat Flair. Das riesige aber trotzdem gemütliche Wohnzimmer mit der alten Holzbalkendecke verdrängt die Gedanken an schnöden Alltag. Das Mas ist perfekt ruhig und wunderschön gelegen. Spazierengehen ohne Anfahrt. Ruhig schlafen....und doch nur ein paar Minuten bis zum Meer. Die Küche: urgemütlich, das Bad funktional. The place has a very pleasent appearance and good interior. Everything was in good shape and well maintened. We experienced great customer service and a nice welcome. We will recomend this property to all our friends and partners. If you ever plan to go to the Cote d Azur in the Marseille Toulon area, this place is an excellent choice. It was very spacious and would probably have been put to better use had there been 2 more of us instead of just us and the baby. Having the washing machine was a godsend too. All of the kitchen conveniences were here, including dishwasher - important if you want to spend your holiday sightseeing and not cleaning. The pool area was peaceful and the perfect spot to recline with trashy novel. ---
