Property was comfortable but a little dated. Great view and Penn & Teller put on a great show.

The Rio

Posted 02-Dec-2016
Pros: The housekeeping staff was very thorough and did an awesome job except for the last day with our confusion of the extended stay.
Cons: The prices for the buffets could be more reasonable. Way too expensive to eat or drink there.
Location: We chose this property due to the shuttle service to Ballys& Harrahs. They said it ran every 30 min til 1 a.m. The shortest wait time was over 45min
So as we first checked in, the staff at the registration decreased by half as the line grew. I understand breaks and work schedules, but they went from 6 to 3 and the line was very long. Then once I finally got to the desk, after using a kiosk to register, the receipt said to go to front desk for important information and coupons. After waiting in the line, the person I spoke to was so rude, and said he had nothing for me and that he didn't know what I was talking about. I tried to show him the sheet from the kiosk, and he looked over me and called the next person. As we found the elevators, some people were waiting there and warned us not to get on the open elevator because it only went to the 8th floor and would leave us there with doors opening and closing repeatedly. We learned later on a down trip, this was true. The one on opposite side, did the same on the 17th and 14th floors. They also wished us luck with having hot water on the 19th floor, they stated they had none for 2 days. This was not true for us, we did have hot water. The one positive of everything with the registration, due to weather concerns, we were forced to stay an additional night. The front desk person I spoke with then was very helpful and set the entire thing up for us. But word of our extra night never made it to the housekeeping as our room did not get made up until after a couple of phone calls requesting service and explaining that we had previously extended our stay.

Pros: location, shuttle service to the other casinos
Cons: If all the amenities or services are to their full service, give some type of discount.
Location: Main boulevard.
The pool was out of service. And I still have to paid the full resort fees, Why?. I did try to get some type of credit but front desk attendant refuse..Oh, well. You did lost a future customer for sure.

Room was fine.

Cheap so it works. But it feels very run down and in need of a face lift.

Arriving late , because my flight was delayed from New York upon arrival the check in was very pleasant and greeted me very warm; my room was nice , clean and fresh and the room temperature was good ,only one thing was missing i could have enjoyed a cup of coffee from my bed if there was a small coffeemaker . Overall I can't wait to go back new year would recommend this hotel and location ..

Blood in my bed

Posted 01-Dec-2016
Nothing like finding someone else's blood in your bedsheets and having NO one care about it. Checked in to not be able to get into my room for an hour because the person who checked me in put me in the wrong room, missed my Theater show, and was offered to have my 10.00 resort fee waived! THANKS RIO! Guess sleeping in blood for a few nights is worth 10.00 off! What a slap in the face! When I contacted Expedia to let them know I wasn't happy, the manager of the Rio, Niesha emailed me and asked me to respond and provided a false email! so, I am over the Rio. Old, outdated, stinky rooms with destroyed carpets, the elevator button on our floor was broken, my couch had a huge burn in it.. I wish I would have stayed in a tent down by the overpass. Probably Would have received better customer service.

What happened to the RIO?

Posted 30-Nov-2016
Pros: The view was nice.
Cons: Spend some money on remodeling.
Location: Will not be staying on the strip next time. This one is too far off the strip. Cabbies in Vegas are cheats. They take you on long trips to go 2 blocks
Old and in poor repair. Food pricing excessive. Pool area closed. Really? I'm coming from Alaska sitting in the sun at 65 is a NICE DAY. Most of the worker-bee staff were much nicer than the desk or management staff. The dealers at the tables were friendly for the most part.

Great time at the Rio! Big spacious rooms, mirror everywhere in the bathroom (every woman's dream)! Loose slots! Great times!!! We will definitely stay at the Rio for future Vegas trips. :)

This is our 3rd staying at Rio. We like the spacious suite room even though some times the room conditions is not the best but still the size of the room make you feel more comfortable. :)
