I was staying there for a conference, I give 1 star for that (facilities). 1 star for Pen and Teller, and 1 star for VooDoo Steakhouse/Patio. You can't beat Pen and Teller. They are the Rio's saving grace. The VooDoo steakhouse and that incredible view! 3 stars for hotel and facilities is more than generous. Check in process was a nightmare, a line of 50 people and two people checking the guests in was not productive. Our room was very dated. The only good things I saw upon entry was the view and there were double sinks. The tub shower combo was TERRIBLE there was mold all around the 80's sliding shower door and the WINDOW from the shower into the bedroom. The shower head had so much mold and calcium that it was more like a mist. On the bedroom side, the window (from the shower) had so much calcium around the frame. This stay was not cheap. We stayed in the classic suite. On the second day I decided I wasn't going to go down and pay $6 for a cup of coffee so I searched harder for the coffee maker. Couldn't find it. Called down to housekeeping and they told me in room coffee makers were reserved for suite guests only. What? Is the name of this hotel not Rio ALL SUITES? Lastly, our sheets were so worn down it felt like we were sleeping on a pile of sand with rocks. They were so worn down. I'm sure at one point they were luxurious. Easily avoidable. Throw away that flat sheet and replace. No one usea fitted sheets anymore apparently so it's not like one had to be hunted down.
