"This resort is in a stunning location and has great potential. The views are beautiful and the grounds well maintained. Rooms are a good size and all (I think) face the ocean.
The staff are friendly and welcoming (as you expect in Samoa!).
I believe the property is recently under new management - when I visited (Easter Sunday 2026) it seemed surprisingly quiet.
I hope that the new owner/management (?) builds on these foundations. For me, obvious steps include:
- Food offerings that better reflect fresh local produce and are more inspiring/unique
- Cocktails that are more memorable and again have some with local individuality
- Culture - find ways to show a little more oflocal culture, history and nature.
Ultimately this was a nice place to stay on my last night in Samoa - with a v early from the airport next door - and would similarly be a good place if arricing too.

"Titi was so friendly and welcoming. She made us the best food we ate in Samoa. Yes the accomodation and facilities were basic but hearing the waves lapping just a few meters from where we slept paradise. Beautiful area to swim and even had turtles pop up to say hi. Would go back for sure it really is paradise"
"I made reservations at this hotel and immediately canceled. I was denied a
refund and found out they resold my room.
This is called robbery by policy."
"Great Resort. Highly recommended. Restaurant Bar and food was excellent. Highly recommend the Fia Fia night on Wednesday’s. Staff and the Owners were wonderful ensuring that we were satisfied with everything. Fantastic location and only a few steps into the lagoon, the Resorts private beach. "
"Staff were lovely but timings were a little off when serving meals. The Fale was fine except the mosquito net had holes in it which meant that during the night I was bitten many times which was quite painful the following morning.
The shower only provided cold water and the rock floor was a bit hard on the feet."

"Tim & Maria were the most welcoming hosts - they went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable & relaxing. They gave us so much tourist advice which helped us around both Upolu & Savaii. Would highly recommend Samoan Highland Hideaway."
