OK Apartment, terrible service and absurd fees
We booked the apartment for its proximity to Ischgl, since prices were a bit lower in Mathon (there's an excellent bus service connecting skiers to Ischgl from Mathon). The apartment was clean and comfortable, but lacking in basic amenities like hand soap! When we asked about hand soap, we were told that this was not something the owners needed to supply, and that no rental apartments offered this. Having stayed in a variety of holiday apartments, I vehemently disagree as in my experience, soap, basic items like salt and pepper, etc. were always provided. Though our stay was comfortable, when it came time to pay our bill, we were disappointed that the hotel tacked on additional fees even though we were under the impression that expedia had included these fees in the total booking cost. We are not sure if it's a problem from the expedia, or from the apartment management, but what was supposed to be a booking of 1,140 EURO (incl. fees) came with an additional EUR 140 fees. The management absolutely refused to address this discrepancy, and we are convinced that this is a kind of scam they run because they request payment in cash (which, is also a bit ludicrous in this day and age). Finally, it is incomprehensible why there is a charge of 15 EURO PER PERSON of a "cleaning fee". This fee to me suggests that some cleaning would be done during our stay, this was NOT THE CASE. Nobody came to clean. Isn't cleaning just part of a regular rental? It's the first time I've seen this.
Pros: The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, close to bus for Ischgl skiers. Nice restaurants in the vicinity.
Cons: Payment online (through expedia) should be available, otherwise expedia should not list it. Hand soap, at least, should be provided.
