"We loved this perfect property. We met and enjoyed this sweet hostess, Mindy. The place was fantastic and we so enjoyed our entire stay. It couldn't have been a more relaxing, clean, and welcoming place. NOTE: We had a lot of difficulty with finding this property. We are from many states away from Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri. Plus, we are senior citizens, so we struggle with new ways to book places to rent and how to communicate with others. Younger renters would not have struggled to find her home, as we did. We are so happy we stayed at Mindy's lovely, well furnished property. I would easily live full-time in such a lovely home. Terry, Mel, and Tracy"

Vacation paradise on Rathbun lake

"We have stayed at this property a couple of different times. It is actually a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, plus fold outs for extra sleeping in the game room. I really like the all concrete floors and the location of the home even though it’s not on the water directly. You can see a peek of the lake from the backyard across the neighbors view. The space is perfect for our large family to gather and the in ground pool and fire pit is perfect after the day at the lake. ( they allow dogs too which is nice) The house itself is getting a little worn from the renters, and could use a refresh on paint, new pans, the inside of the oven was not clean etc- but overall it is a great local option just a short drive down to the Island View beach and boat launch area. I did message the owner on our first night about an issue with the smoke detector beeping low battery that was in a locked utility closet, and it was still going off when we left this morning. Perhaps they were gone or busy for the holiday weekend, but it is annoying and with the price increases, we are not sure if we can come back as this is one of the highest priced options in the area."
