Perfect house for a group of families with young kids!! So many games, access to an indoor swimming pool, convenient to Chimney Rock, and the hot tub was a huge hit! Also easy to get to!
Stayed here for our annual golf trip with 10 golfers. Plenty of space and beds for everyone. Inside the resort made it very convenient. House was clean and well-stocked. Great for golf trip and great for large or multi-family stay. Definitely recommend.
We had an amazing memorial day weekend at Rumbling Bald Resort. The cabin was just as described with plenty of space for everyone. The deck was great with ample seating and the hot tub was a perfect touch. We walked to the pool and resort amenities many times. It is about a mile walk, but was great exercise and easily done, even with a group of kids! Make sure to check out all the restaurants and calendar of events while you’re there! We would stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfectly set up for our group as the younger kids slept upstairs and the older teens has their own space downstairs. Hot tub was a great perk. Also liked where it was located within the resort with a very easy drive to amenities. Will definitely choose this place for future visits!
We had a great time. Home was comfortable for our group of 5 golfers. This year being a little different from our trips up here in fall. We still enjoy the area and will visit again.
This home is excellent for medium to large families. We loved being able to use the amenities at the clubhouse. Having a hot tub at the house was also nice to come home to!
We would definitely rent again!
The property was perfect for our group of eleven. There were plenty beds and plenty of room for everyone. The Mountain view from the upper balcony was breathtaking. Everyone found their favorite spot to hang out and relax. We cooked lunch and dinner and made use of the grill. The stay was very relaxing and everyone enjoyed it.
Perfect place for family with children of all ages. Great amenities in Rumbling Bald with plenty to do. The game room with pool and foosball and other games provided a lot to do when it was raining. The internet signal was not strong enough to watch TV without a lot of buffering which was frustrating while trying to watch the Olympics - but we enjoyed other things instead.
The house was great - exactly as described. The resort has a lot to offer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is we had issues with the resort passes. We only had 10 passes but we had reserved for 12 people. You need a pass to access pool, beach so that was problematic. I messaged owner and got no reply.
Mountains were beautiful. Chimney Rock & nearby waterfalls were some great hikes.
Home was very clean, beds excellent all slept well. Make sure you have a hot spot as Wi-Fi goes in an out. You need to be able to drive curving mountain roads. Bring map as gps cuts out on back roads. But the home very nice resort excellent children loved the pool, amenities, we went on boat ride right at pier, next to great ice cream shop. Forth of July fireworks were outstanding. BEst equipped kitchen . Nice cold A/C. Loved the deck.
Our group of friends take a mystery trip each year. This year our mystery planners chose this location and cabin. It was perfect! If you are not comfortable driving steep hills or mountains, arrive during light hours of the day. Very tricky trying to find drive way at night if not familiar. Only recommendation is to add reflectors on either road or drive ways.
Very nice home. We enjoyed our stay. A little tough to locate in the dark, but, may have just been me. The only issues we had were that the carpet in the master bedroom was still wet after it had been cleaned earlier in the week, we let the owner know this, and there were not enough lights on the decks esp. around the hot tub, unless we just couldn't locate them,so, it was difficult to see at night when out on the deck. There were ample beds and plenty of entertainment. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and enjoyed some quality family time.
Internet was down the entirety of our stay, and there was zero cellphone service in the house. We booked this house as a location for a fantasy football draft, and we were unable to use it for the draft due to the internet issues. No tv, no one could communicated with families at home. Other than that it was clean and well appointed.
Great house for our 12 multigenerational family members. Lots of space on three separate levels and two huge decks so you never felt on top of each other. Plenty of bedrooms with comfy beds. Kitchen well stocked with equipment -but loosely organized - so you had to hunt for what you needed - which was not a big problem. Very close to resort amenities. Large, clean hot tub was great! Kirby, the property manager, was extremely quick to respond to our request for extra supplies. She is very pleasant and super friendly! The only overall drawback is the internet connection is iffy in the Lake Lure area so be patient. We would definitely go back in the future!
Our daughter got married in Marion and booked a house in this area. I wanted to be close to her so I was on the hunt and lucked out on this gem. It was seriously less than 1 minute from her. There are 2 parking areas to the house. We originally parked in the lower driveway and then realized we had to put the code in the front door at the top to enter the house. If you are unloading luggage, go ahead and pull to the top. We enjoyed the openess of the main living area. We all felt together and enjoyed hanging out around the kitchen counter while others were watching the game in the open living area. The space on the lower level with the pool table, tv and seating area was great as well. Our family enjoyed the space, the area and made some wonderful memories that weekend. Thank you!
I'll start with the pros. The lodge is very open with lots of areas to spread everyone out. The game room downstairs was nice and the open floor plan on the main floor was perfect for our needs. The house was very clean, tidy and well laid out. Now the cons. The check in information was inaccurate. Particularly regarding what to do with trash. There were not extra blankets and the lodge is drafty. The towels needed fabric softener as the water is hard. The kitchen was good, but there were no large stock pots at all. I was fortunate to have packed a Ninja multi cooker so I was still able to make mashed potatoes for our group of 10 people. The largest pot in the kitchen was a 2 qt sauce pan. This is not what I would call a budget rental. It missed meeting my expectations by just a bit. Adding some throw blankets in the living room, having softer towels and making sure the kitchen is stocked with all of the necessities for feeding the number of people the lodge can accomodate would make a huge difference.
