It's well kept and very inviting. We would definitely come back. Mimi was wonderful to work with during the whole process as well as Monty the on site manager. The resort layout is fabulous. The pools are perfect and didn't feel too busy and yet the kids also loved going to the beach and playing in the waves. For a calmer beach experience we just drove to baby beach in Lahaina a few times and went for dinner on Front Street. We can't wait to return. The property management team (Maui resort rentals) was also so helpful for anything we needed. I do not have anything bad to say about our trip. Mahalo! ##### Brittani S. Spacious, clean and comfy. The lanai / nano door to allow you to open up your space at night was lovely. Only suggestion is for more plates / cooking supplies - bowls, platters and a larger cutting board for use at the bbq. It was impossible to get restaurant reservations, so we did a lot of cooking. The kitchen was a huge bonus, so no complaints. You can’t go wrong with this unit! ##### james K. We easily fit into the two bedroom unit and found the amenities to be excellent. The location to pools and beach was wonderful. The ocean directly in front of the unit had quite a few rocks, but just a few yards down was sandy and rock free. There was a good supply of toys/ beach chairs and boogie boards to keep everyone happy. If we were to have any complaints it was that there could have been more storage, especially in the master bathroom. When we arrived there was a burnt out light in one of the baths. A quick text to Monty and that was fixed. All in all, a wonderful stay. ##### Debi C. Beautifully furnished, quality kitchen equipment and nice and comfy beds and sofa. It is ground floor, so you can just hop on the path and get to the ocean or Duke's, a nice restaurant within the resort. The staff to welcome us were timely and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. The pools are nice, and at night tiki torches abound and the pools are well lit. The landscaping is very well done. Would give it 5 stars, but there is some construction going on blocking what would have been a knock-out view. But the easy access to beach, front of resort and restaurant help make up for that. There are showers right off the beach to rinse off sand. Snorkeled right off beach in front of resort. It would be a great place for a family or friends retreat. ##### Elizabeth B. I chose this property for multiple reasons and it was ideal! Mimi and Monty made our stay seamless and were quick to take care of any needs that we had. I really wanted something close to the beach and this was about a 1 minute walk there. We snorkeled right in front of the property several days and saw a variety of fish and some turtles. Very cool. I also needed 1st floor convenience for my parents and this fit the bill. I was a little worried because some of the satellite images indicated that you would be looking at a construction site next door when sitting on the lanai, but this is not the case. The property next door (a Westin property) is completely finished. Sitting on the lanai and having breakfast was wonderful. Parking is also super easy and the staff at Honua Kai are incredibly friendly. I can't say enough good things about this property. I hope to be back in the future. ##### Katherine A. It was steps from the pool and the beach, we liked the floor level room primarily because we never had to take the elevator to get back to our room and grab something or make another drink. It was also very nice to have the hotel market right there for our morning coffees and last minute groceries we needed when making dinners. Some of the negatives: We had six people staying in the condo and while there were sheets for everyone, each bed was not equipped with a nice cozy duvet cover, only the master king bed. Some of our guests were cold since they had a very thin blanket and sheets. When I asked the property manager they did provide me with more blankets but they were the same thin ones. The ice machine in the refrigerator was not working properly the whole time, but it was probably my fault for not notifying the property manager of this until our last day there. We did run out of some supplies such as cleaning wipes for the counters, and when asked if we could replenish the P.M. said they didn't have any more, which I just thought was weird because they stock a lot of these resort condos. It would be nice if the condo would stock basic toiletries such as qtips, body wash, and hand soap for the kitchen. Seemed to be lacking some of those essentials. The trash is not located "just upstairs one flight" as the property manager told us. It's upstairs one level but then totally across the whole building! This is definitely Honua Kai's fault with their design and they weren't exactly thinking with this one. It was pretty inconvenient especially because the small trash in the condo would fill up about twice daily. Overall it was an awesome trip and we really enjoyed the condo and hotel amenities! The big pool and grassy area in front are the best areas to lay out besides the beautiful beach ahead. We loved it and love Maui! ##### Natalie D. The lanai is perfect for kids and offers privacy in comparison to most. The location of this room in the resort was perfect for us. Very easy beach access, amazing sunset views over the ocean and a 1 minute walk to the coffee shop! The rooms are well stocked in regards to kitchen needs and even has beach stuff (chairs, cooler, umbrella). The resort was very clean and well kept and staff was very friendly. The condo was located perfectly on the side of the resort tower, away from the noise and busyness of the pool and main resort area. The first floor walk out to the beach path was perfect and we could watch the ocean while drinking our morning coffee on the lanai. The condo itself was super clean, well maintained and fully stocked with kitchen and bath supplies and even some beach items. We had a fantastic stay in this unit. This was our second time staying a the Honua Kai resort, and our first time in this unit. The condo is clean and nicely finished. The kitchen has plenty of plates, pots, pans, and utensils which we always appreciate. The management company managed all of our service needs during our stay and they were very responsive and helpful.
