This villa should have been great. It is well laid out, has a nice garden and is close to amenities and beaches. However on arrival we found one bedroom unavailable due to a leaking roof. Another has a major plumbing issue so that sewage water spills from the toilet to flood the bathroom and spread foul odours. A third bedroom is constantly damp in the spring because there is no central heating so when it's cold you have to light fires in several rooms. The hot water supply is hopeless - if you fill a bath 3 inches it runs out. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable - you will feel the springs in them digging into you; we didn't sleep properly all week. The pool was not filled and was dirty. Clearly we faced major problems, none of which were mentioned before we arrived although the hostess must have been aware. Neither the hostess nor the housekeeper answered the phone or emails in response to urgent messages. The serious maintenance problems, blatantly false marketing of available bedrooms, and utter disregard of hostess mean any sensible guest should look for another property. ##### David C. Hier zat een ondiep gedeelte bij, wat ideaal was voor de kleine kinderen, dan hoefde ze niet telkens in het diepe te zwemmen. Enige min punt je zijn de oncomfortabele stoelen op het terras en bij de eettafel. De lig bedden bij het zwembad lagen gelukkig wel lekker. Zeker een aanrader om met families of meerdere gezinnen naar toe te gaan. Vooraf goede communicatie per email met Isabelle over onze specifieke wensen (kinderbedje) en routebeschrijving / GPS co-ordinaten. Hartelijk ontvangen en goed verzorgd door Maria. Elke ochtend al vroeg kwam ze langs om de matrasjes vast op de zonnebedden te leggen en de handdoeken netjes in een rolletje. Ze helpt je met alles wat je maar vraagt, maar ze spreekt wel alleen Portugees! Een prachtig huis, mooi ingericht, goed verzorgd en heerlijk zwembad met veel terrein eromheen. We hebben er van genoten. We hadden alleen wat last van de lawaai-ige tweemotorige (les?)vliegtuigen die vanuit Portimao airport hun route precies over het huis hebben en vanaf 09.00 tot tegen 17.00 uur actief zijn, ook in het weekend. Het strand is niet ver rijden van Odiaxere en een leuke afwisseling. Voor boodschappen moet je een kwartiertje richting Lagos. Restaurant Cacto in het dorp heeft een vriendelijke eigenaar en heerlijk eten. Een minpuntje in de inrichting zijn de onconfortabele eettafel stoeltjes buiten op het terras. De woning had alle comfort die je maar wensen kon. De keuken was zeer compleet uitgerust, de slaapkamers waren zeer ruim en allemaal voorzien van sanitair. De woonkamer zeer luxe en gezellig. Eigenlijk was de woning veel mooier dan de plaatjes deden vermoeden. De omgeving is zeer landelijk dus als je van rust houdt ben je daar op je plaats. Het lokale restaurant Cactus viel bijzonder goed in de smaak bij jong en oud. Voor boodschappen moest je naar Lagos, daar kon je bij vele supermarkten terecht. Voor ons was dit een onvergetelijke ervaring.
